I used to work near here and my colleagues were fans of breakfast for lunch. It was a nice chance for me to try some breakfast foods since I'm not known to get out of bed to eat at any 'a.m.' time. I'll never forget some 13-egg omelette they brought me that was the size of a small country.

Next time you are in the area b. patisserie makes the kouign-amann by which all other kouign-amann are judged, at least the americanized version. Truly a delight!

That sounds delicious and looks like quite a mise en place!

I’ve been impressed with the pizza here, and they’re honest about the ‘homage’ factor rather than pretending it’s traditional-style stuff like every other Italian place in the city. In the end that’s secondary anyways - it’s tasty stuff, and that’s what matters most.

Love the well-rounded menu and they seem to do it all beautifully.

An oldie but a goodie. I remember many great lunches out on the bay when Anthony's had a bigger presence in San Diego. In fact, one of my first dining experiences in the city was at the Anthony's just off the 5-freeway in Chula Vista many years ago now. So happy that the one remaining location is still chugging along (I recall it was due to close a year or two ago but community support kept that from happening).

For all the years I've lived in San Diego, I've never actually gone out and done a sit-down breakfast. Sounds (and looks) like I'm missing out!

Looks like a lot of great food done well!

Definitely an area that needs to be visited on a weekday for maximum enjoyment. I'm a walker and trying to get through the mazes of people otherwise is a deterrent. That said, I still haven't made it to the market on Wednesdays, which I imagine is a quieter scene than the droves of people on Saturday mornings.

So pretty! Some of the views and the rock formations look like they could be Capri. The beef empanadas and the fried yucca are calling me.

Sigh. It's the worst when a beloved chain expands nearby only to not live up to the original (or to other locations). Hopefully they will improve their quality control with time.

Love the market at HFS. Traditional, fresh poke in a bevy of ever-rotating tasty flavors. I know the assembly line places mean well and fit into our on-the-go culture, but I weep at the slime in a bowl stuff that they put out. Thx also for the dumplings rec - I had just been seeking some dumplings options and here one appeared.
