These Ingeborg slippers were super fun to make. I could hardly put them down. I really love the splash of orange at the cuff. I didn't do a gauge swatch because I almost always knit loose - so I just went down a needle size. I used a 2 even though the pattern calls for a 3. They were really tight before I blocked them, so I think I could have used a 2.5 at least. The pattern calls for a bit of felting which I didn't do. I'm really fickle when it comes to sewing projects. I like to take an immediate fork in the road when I get inspired by something comes across Instagram or my blog feed. That said, I have a pile of fabric and patterns from when that happened and then something else came along before I had a chance to follow through on the initial inspiration. Yes, I know, just a city. But, if you're a runner, you know that means one thing and one thing only. The. Boston. Marathon. I had the awesome experience of running that marathon just a little over four weeks ago, even though it seems like a century ago. It was a bit of a struggle leading up to the race. This came in the mail today . . . Sorry for harping on the marathon, but it's been on my mind for the last 15 weeks. Actually, since June 21st when I qualified. Oops. I didn't really mean to go almost 2 years without blogging. Is anyone still there? I certainly understand if you're not. I haven't done as much sewing as I would like in the last two years. My muse, my model, my customer, Addie, now has even stronger opinions now (at 7) about what she will and won't wear. I tried for a while but lost my ability to talk her into wearing things I made.
