Sorry to hear that Anchorman 2 was disappointing. :-( The Festival of Faith and Writing looked amazing, though! What a fabulous month. xo

Hi Leigh, hope you are having an amazing time in Africa. I'm sorry to say I think I'll miss contributing a What I'm Into post to the link-up for the first time. My Pa (grandfather) passed away unexpectedly last week and I just haven't found the time or headspace put all the things of the past month together since. Hopefully back in June! xo

Offspring should be up everyone's alley. It is the best ever. Season 4 returns in one week so just FYI my tweets will get frequent and probably obnoxious! ;)

Oh she has nothing on her grandfather! Still, it was an enjoyable read. My best friend has Sophie Dahl's cookbook and says it is gorgeous - she read it in bed like a novel! :)

You absolutely should! I really enjoyed that one.

Call the Midwife is the best! Hope you enjoy the second series. :) Happy birthday for whenever it is!
I read more fiction but, like you, I love a great memoir or biography - not so good with the histories! Also, (good) books on faith.

My pleasure. These are some of my favourite posts. My reservations on RHE's book are hard to articulate. I guess it was that it felt a little too steeped in American evangelicalism for me and maybe the gimmicky nature of the material which I don't respond to very well (I even had similar reservations with Jen Hatmaker's 7) I kind of felt that some unbalanced caricatures and stereotypes were set up too. But fundamentally my grounding in faith and scripture is probably just not strong enough and I become very conflicted over debates like these and end up being tempted just to give the whole thing away! The review by 'geekmama' who also linked up with 'What I'm Into' expresses my concerns better.
So so good. I feel like the eyes of my soul have been drawn upward. Thank you, Leigh.

Thank you, Leigh. You absolutely must watch Call the Midwife sometime, I feel certain you would love it. And since I'm melting like ice on a hot sidewalk even at 8 am here, sitting in frigid air-con to watch my man, Hugh, sounds good to me!

Gone Girl was a good read. I wasn't too convinced by the twist and new direction in the middle but continued to enjoy it all the way through. So many great book recommendations here. I haven't gotten to do much blog reading this month; off to click through all these links now. :)

I remember discussing 'As Nature Made Him' at university - some really interesting perspectives there. I didn't super love 'Gone Girl' but it was very entertaining and I can see that it would've made for some great book club debate. I never thought of joining a book club until I read your posts about it . . . maybe one day!

Mine too, Nicole. I seem to have a voracious appetite for 'cheese' as Christmas!

I'm going to be honest, Leigh and Sarah, no I don't really recommend this Stephen King novel. It had a great premise but (in my opinion only of course) some major editing was required!

Right?! I snort laugh every time. I'll have to find the straight men response for you. It's also hilarious but kind of dark and depressing 'cos it's too true!

Aren't they great? And yes, I love the kid in Love Actually; he and Liam Neeson are probably my favourite characters. I think in real life he is Hugh Grant's cousin or nephew; in case you're a trivia buff like me! :)

Believe it or not I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life. Must be time to remedy that this year.

Congratulations Leigh! Well deserved. Looking forward to reading this one and many more! xo
What an awesome post. So empowering. I am such a wimp but I think you may have just fired me up with the courage I need to 'unfriend' those guys from high school (haven't even seen in 10 years) who keep posting bigoted comments and "ruining my five minutes of scrolling through baby pictures and inane status updates with their nastiness"! Thank you for this :)

Don't worry, some videos just don't work in my region (Australia). I will try youtube. Must check it out and send to my high school bestie - possibly the greatest Pacey fan of all time. Possibly? Definitely!

No judgment here - I'm very intrigued by this Pacey-con but the video won't work for me. Grrr. Please explain?

Oh Leigh, this was amazing. Truly the best thing I've read in weeks. I seem to keep learning this same lesson over and over, trying to trust and not depend on my own false sense of control and security. Why is it still so hard every time?!
