Gareth Wyn Jones made a minor but significant typo is the essay. Galbraith was Scotch-Canadian, not Scots-Canadian.
Games have to be *fun* first! You can add all sorts of lessons and information to a game, but if it isn't fun, it won't be played.

Without government subsidies (or practical energy storage) PV fails because the sun is not always shining. You get to pay twice for the electrical generation equipment. PV cells for when the sun shines. And also a co-generation facility when the sun isn't there for you. Making PV electricity work when it provides more than 10% of capacity is not a solved economic problem.
Don't forget that one of the best instruments of social disruption is the briefcase armed lawyer. They can often bring things to an effective halt by turning different arms of a government against each other.
