Of course having one or more of your children being otd is contagious. I have seen this myself on numerous occasions. But, my thoughts are that if the torah was so good, and so perfect, and so self evident, then parents should have nothing to worry about. Obviously this is not the case. The torah is not bulletproof and irrefutable. Children who go otd usually do quite well after a few years. Although due to lack of parental guidance and support, they tend to have problems along the way, and some go on to drugs, and some kill themselves. This is mainly because they were never prepared by their parents and teachers for life in the real world.

MAKODA, Then you probably are unaware of the concept of kiddush hashem and chillul hashem. The latter of which you are doing right now. Think of what you are doing!!

We will never win by coming down to their level. However, this is the only way they will understand that we will not give in to their violence by rolling over or vacating the country. I say, let loose the dogs of war. For every terrorist attack, for the number of Victims, the same number of Palestinian prisoners get executed. They come at you with a knife, you go at them with a gun. (Some quote from an old movie).

It is important to note that More than just a religious institution, this is a business, pure and simple. The public stance, is that they are doing the work of the rebbe, and making sure that no jewish child is refused a jewish education. But the private stance, is to: A. Make as much income from government handouts as possible, each student brings in approx $10k. Not to mention even the income from the early learning centres. B. Provide an income for the families of the "royal" members of the (now behind the scenes) committee, founding families, and rabbis. The majority of those earning an income from the institution are relatives and close associates of these. C. To gain as much money from donations, a majority of which come from non-religious donors, who are convinced in many ways to part with their money for a holy cause. D. To keep the status quo no matter what happens to try and rock the boat. Keep the organisation looking squeaky clean under all circumstances, to protect the various lines of income. E. Etc. some things that may cause other issues if mentioned here. That is why what is happening now is important. Till now, it has all been covered up, and the 'old' committee have all had collective amnesia when asked questions at the royal commission. This is an effort to try and save as much as they can, before it is too late, and things are taken out of their hands. Not everyone will be fooled. Nonetheless due to the sunlight exposure, some good will come from this. And, to continue the business, they will have to prove that they are now queaky clean.

It is time we showed unconditional love towards refugees, whether they are political, economical, or under dire threat. There will always be bad people amongst them, but the majority of good people will overcome this. Especially if the people are shown true acceptance, assistance and love. Even from an economic basis, refugees are also good for economies in the long run. The US has vast tranches of land that can be put to good use. And Australia is nearly empty. With Israeli technological examples, the deserts there can be made into oases, and the country could easily accommodate at least 100 million more.

Damage control... They need to be seen to be doing something. It is a sham. Manny, don't be fooled.

Hey, this is as good an idea as any other. Worth giving it a try. It may be seen though, as proselytising. Be interesting to see how long the billboards last in those places.

I fail to see the relevence of Shmarya's grandfather's lifestyle, to Shmarya. I know that both my grandfathers had to compromise themselves to survive the war. Does that mean that I am a bad person? If Hilter had a son, would we judge him by his father's deeds?

Shayna (G in NZ), I think we would all like the recipe. Could you please post it here? Thx.

And C.D, 4. To the Royal Commission, "You see, we ARE doing things to make it better, now please leave us alone. Please do not send any of our dear rabbits (oops) rabbis, to jail."

This is bad because: -They are not pulling their weight, and are a drag on society financially. -They will not learn what it is to put their life on the line for their beliefs. -They will believe their bulltish even more, and live in a fantasy world. It is good because: -They will not learn how to use weapons, which will ultimately be used on other Israelis if push comes to shove. -They will not learn military strategy. -They will not be able to look other Israelis in the eye.

It is important to find out who are the people pulling the strings behind these ICOM puppets. You may find the old masters are still there by proxy. They would not let go of their control of the institution so easily. There is too much at stake for them. It is time for a proper clean out, and a new start, it would most likely require a very wealthy individual, or group, to buy them out. Yes, it is mainly about the money.

Phew, and I thought it was because they raised their kids with anti-jewish and homocidal propaganda. Good to know that it didn't affect them. It's been our fault all along. Typical leftish bulltish... What I think is needed, is a freindship TV station, which for at least 12 hours per day, shows jews and arabs working together, in schools, in hospitals, on building sites, in shops etc. interviews with Israeli arabs talking about their life and freedoms etc. This may work to counter the terrorism.

Right or wrong in this case, I would prefer not to be seeing this blog pushing the blade further into our Israeli bretheren's ribs. We need to stand united against our enemies.

One point I missed out. In the kosher establishments, even some of the jewish staff sometimes have grievances with their employers, and rebel surreptitiously.

While, I have no doubt that what she is saying about non-jewish employees of kosher food establishments is true in many cases, it is not true that you cannot trust non-jews as a per se blanket statement. I have been exposed to many such establishments, and spoken with many of the employees, jewish and non-jewish. The non-jewish people did not know at first that I was jewish, and were quite open with what they thought. They told me, in many cases, about the hypocrisy and the poor behaviour of their jewish employers, and the lack of respect/decency afforded to them. Some of them retaliate at times, as a protest to this treatment. As well, having witnessed unclean goings on in non-kosher establishments as well led me to decide that eating foods processed by external parties is a game of chance, and in general, most people do not suffer from poor hygiene in these cases (I am talking about western countries here). In non-western countries, eating any processed food is a lottery that you will rarely win.

Abra - those traffic rules you mention, are statutes, not laws. Hence, they are relevant between your corporate entity (if you so choose to assume it) and the other corporate entity in which you choose to contract with. If you don't contract with those entities, then those statutes do not apply to you, and you don't need to pay. (However, the courts are part of those corporate entities, and will not accept your counter argument)

No shiduchim (as well as no shiddurim)... That jews act like this to each other, is an indictment of us all, as well as the so-called religion/cult. God, you must smite down the evildoers! (Oops, I think that includes me as well...). Its ok, god has never done that anyway, she usually just kills lots of innocent children to show her anger with some other people.

This is more proof that we are not gods chosen people. This is more proof that god does not exist. This is more proof that we as a people are not deserving, nor ready. This is more proof that religion is a sham. This is more proof that there is no moshiach. This is more proof that we all need to have a long serious look at ourselves and decide where we really stand. Above all, this saddens me.
