Your father sounds like such a wonderful man! The stories you tell make me smile as he was seemingly full of Hungarian tenacity which I recognize from my own father! I will pray for him and all the faithfully departed. Your winter looks to be unfolding beautifully with a lovely mix of both indoor and outdoor fun. Enjoy!

Thanks J.C.! It's baking soda. Also, I just add a teaspoon of vinegar to the milk to make it sour since I rarely have buttermilk on hand. :)
