1. Repeat as often as needed to make this your way of being in the world: "Take it easy, but take it" 2. Work on art as much as possible. It gets a lot harder to find the time later... 3. Learn more about computers. You will end up needing to use them more often than you can possibly imagine now.

After taking quite a hiatus from drawing, I've returned to the studio. This is the first in a series of portraits that, as you may have guessed from the title, will focus on the dynamic of being simultaneously close and removed. I see drawing as poetry and people as poems, often hinting at more than we say. My hope, with this piece, is that it carries a current of the implied through the use of oppositional lighting.
