"attracting visitors to our islands" By raising the hotel tax? Interesting concept. Have you considered marketing the fact that your hotel tax is much lower than Puerto Rico's? Do the hotels and timeshares see this as a step that will bring in more customers?
Someday history will tells us wether going into Iraq was a mistake or the right thing to do. I believe Bush number 1 thought it would be a mistake. But that history book hasn't been written yet and I believe a lot of things will happen before we understand the full effect of us going there. GW Bush may have lied about why he pushed for going into Iraq. I personally believe the real full reason wasn't because of WMD. But I believe there is plenty of evidence to back up the claim that not only the Bush Administration, but also a lot of informed people around the world truly believed that Saddam possessed WMD. There is also lots of paper evidence that a lot of people in Iraq, including military people in high command in Iraq who truly believed Saddam had WMDS. This is documented in internal Iraqi military papers recovered by our troops in Iraq after the war. Threat of WMDS was one of the ways this Dictator stayed in power. Saddam was walking a tricky line between convincing the world he had no WMDS and convincing people in Iraq and surrounding neighbors that he did posses WMDS. I realize some people will never accept this.

Hey Kevin, I wonder if these Racists are the same group of folks that were continually attacking Bush when he was in office. I wonder why those unrelenting attacks were not called Racism. I wonder if you are a Racists. I wonder if anyone could reasonably disagree with the Obama administration over anything without you calling them a racists. In the words of Hillary Clinton. "We have a right to disagree".
1) Before Obama was elected the tea party movement was just starting and they were complaining about out of control government spending and Pres Bush. 2) Before Obama was elected the US was not practically brought to its knees. 3) There are blacks in the tea party. 4) I do not belong to a Tea Party. Now I have a question and suggestion for you. 1) Where do you get your information? 2) I suggest you do more research and maybe find new sources.

Actually voting no takes the power to decide away from the voters. And you already potholes and bad snow removal with the current system. Vote yes to prop A to send a message to city hall that you are unhappy with the way they run the city.

I think to real stats reveal that money does not necessarily buy an election win. But I do agree that reform is due. I just don't think the congressional elite will ever let that happen.

Relax Thair. We have a lot more than 50 to 100 years. Probably closer to over 10000 years. And that's if the warmers are right. Ice is decreasing in the Arctic. But increasing in Antarctica. Really, it's not near as dire as some what you to think. Get informed, think for yourself. Good luck.
Mary maybe we should take the time to improve it first. Maybe we should get a factual idea of what the cost will be. ( Not that Washington seems capable of doing that. ) Aaahhhh, but do we have the time to do it Right? That is the first question we must answer. How soon must we make these very important desicions? What is a realistic time frame. According to some scientists, researchers, activists. politicians. lobbyists we are already out of time. So maybe we should get a perspective on how much time we have to make these MASSIVE decisions. Scott Luthcke of Nasa has been measuring the size and loss of Greenland's ice sheet for the past 6 years using the Grace satellite system. According to his research Greenland’s ice sheet is losing 200 cubic kilometers of ice every year. That’s one third the volume of water in Lake Erie every year. Wow that’s a lot of water. That’s scary. It’s worded that way to do exactly that. Scare you. Now let’s say the same thing but word it differently. If Greenland loses 200 cubic kilometers every it will be gone in 12,000 to 15,000 years. And this is assuming we don’t have any cooling periods thrown in there. By the way Arctic ice gained some ground this year I believe. Now it sounds like maybe we have the time to get it right. Come on Mary let’s demand they get this one right. Let’s not fall prey to the FEAR-MONGERING this time with this very important subject. Let’s demand the facts. Let’s be wise and patient like a tortoise. We can do that by letting the scientific process run it’s course. That will take time. Let’s not be Chicken Little. “I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis.” — Al Gore, Grist magazine, May 2006 Fear-mongering:The use of fear to influence the opinions and actions of others towards some specific end.

As a Independent Mr Green I hear from both sides. So I will give you an observation I have made over the last 20 years. When a Republican president is in office the democrats and liberals are very outspoken and at times hateful. The same is true with republicans when we have a democrat president. Also both sides seem to be completely oblivious that they behave this way. Another thing I noticed over the years is when I'm talking to someone from these two parties they seem to assume I am member of their party. I find this strange. When I tell them I'm an Independent they still feel the need to fit me into one party or the other. So Mr Green you letter is the same old thing. You have made no new revelation. But I would like you to answer a question. What criticism do you have about the folks you have personally elected into office. Now that would be helpful and refreshing. Really sir I challenge you to do this. This I would pay attention to you. Lastly I will leave you with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CzteDucRHo&feature=related

Maybe John is just pointing out that we should stay in reality. Especially when it comes to how our tax dollars are spent. I think everybody wants GM to survive. But some of us understand that GM and the unions might need to make some hard and wise decisions. Here is a link to help people understand what John is talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOaS2SymjQ4&feature=player_embedded

It's okay Ken. With all the bullstuff shoveled out, really who has time to dig for the truth. Here is a video from REASON TV that breaks down the math of the GM PAYBACK. http://www.youtube.com/user/ReasonTV#p/search/0/SOaS2SymjQ4 So GM lied to you. Some politicians lied to you. Aren't you mad now. Always look for the truth. Maintain a wide perspective and a clear field of view. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
