it's been.... ten years for me, and still going. I occasionally have access to tv when on vacations, and I've forgotten HOW to watch tv. I was at a friend's house overnight once and she said "here's the remote, if you want to watch tv or change the stations or anything" and in the morning I was still on the same station which was running back-to-back reruns of "Golden Girls" LOL I don't miss it AT ALL except maybe the History channel and Discovery Channel.

I always try to weave all the information I get from a reading into a story. I know that all cards have multiple meanings, multiple nuances, but only one is right for each situation, and when you weave all the cards together into one story, you get an extremely tight, personalized fit. that is why my readings always take more than an hour LOL but it's worth it =)

the first thought that crossed my mind looking at that Vanessa Tarot image is how foolish she is, thinking she is safe in hitchhiking! LOL In a way, that naivete is exactly the kind of thing that often comes with the Fool. It's not about the outcome, is it? not about whether or not the person is genuinely safe.... it's about their trusting demeanor. I have heard it said (and probably said it myself) that a Fool is someone who trusts, and trusts again, even after being hurt. They are always willing to risk being hurt, because they are open to the chance that something positive will come. I knew a girl who hitchhiked everywhere back when I was in college. She used to say that she met the most interesting people doing that. And one time she got an older man, a farmer-dad type person, who gave her a stern lecture about hitchhiking. He'd picked her up, and drove her where she needed to go, but he was scolding her the whole time! She never did get into any real harm, though she had a close call once. =)
Michael, thank you for your comments! as always, well thought out responses to what I wrote. You make me happy to write stuff. =) I remember when I was first learning to read the tarot, I was the "good catholic girl" living in an apartment next door to some "good baptist girls" who went to the local baptist bible college. They came over and saw me reading, and thought it might be a bad thing, but they let me explain it, and they went home and thought about it, and didn't come back saying it was evil. One even got her cards read within a few weeks or so. No mention of "witchcraft" from any of the involved parties!

this sounds like fun. I can't wait to see how everyone does with this! I'll be paying attention to see what I can learn too! =) I think I'll follow along with one of the new decks I got the other day....
As a Wiccan, I have seen this argument go around repeatedly on several different forums, and never with any real resolution, because the answer is so subjective. I, however, thought I would write up something resembling an opinion on the whole thing. I discovered tarot years before I ever heard... Continue reading

Sophie appears to be quite young, so perhaps her unwillingness to go beyond the space she goes into with the readings is because she hasn't yet learned her boundaries. She seems in general to not really understand how to walk the line.... I DID notice that about the life force draining, not just from Hawkins, but also the grass and the fields around him. I would like to know if they continue to be drained or if they can get their energy back eventually. You know, does the fact that the girl is now cured of her crippled state mean that field will never grow anything again, or was it just a temporary drain for the purpose of doing the healing? Now I'm thinking back, in the flashback where he healed his dead kitten as a child, did anything else around him seem to wither or fade? I don't recall seeing this happen. Yet I would think bringing an animal back from 3-days-dead would take more energy than healing a crippled child? As for the scary Preacher, it's the same actor who played the Kurgan in the Highlander! So I think this guy always plays scary bad guys. Which makes it kind of creepy to see him playing a preacher man, and you anticipate him turning out to be the evil one. I am trying not to pre-judge on this one, it would be cool to be proven wrong on that LOL There is something UP with the Bearded Lady and the blind man! he he he some kind of relationship there....
I just finished watching the pilot episode of the HBO Original Series "Carnivale" which aired in 2003-2005. This episode, original airdate Sept 14, 2003, was titled "Milfay." In typical surreal television form, I could easily have missed the reason why the episode was titled this way. I only recall hearing... Continue reading

it only ran for I think two seasons. While I never got to see it back in the day, I found an online source to watch it and thought it would be fun if we all watched it "together." The internet makes such things possible!
Calling all Tarotists! Who's up for a group television viewing/discussion experience? Back in 2003, an HBO original series entitled "Carnivale" began to broadcast. Featuring a group of "special" performers in a traveling carnival show during the Dust Bowl era, it has often been likened to working with Tarot archetypes and... Continue reading

I've been thinking a lot lately about what kinds of changes I need to make in my life. Let's face it, we're all human. I am as guilty as anyone else of making mistakes in judgment, in relationships, in career choices, and the like. I'd love to be able to... Continue reading

One of the most important points to ponder when thinking about the Hermit card in the tarot is the meaning of the word "hermit," surely one of the more misunderstood concepts in modern culture. Merriam-Webster dictionary online describes a hermit in the following manner: Definition of HERMIT 1 a :... Continue reading

I really appreciate how you have pointed out that it is not necessary for us to raise ourselves up by pushing down on the others around us. Too many people in this world do that. There is a perception of competition with others, when the only competition should be with our higher self; that is, to strive always to better ourselves compared to the goal we set to become.... we can do better even than we thought we could....
When the mere mention of a book burning comes up, most of us feel a sense of outrage, a feeling that something wrong, something atrocious, is being committed. The very act of violation against books, those vessels of knowledge, symbols of the most precious of our freedoms, the freedom of... Continue reading
