That Color
It's weird that a woman with no time and a baby that is crawling all over the free world pretty much every minute of the waking day would do something like hand-pleat a big piece of fabric and then smock it by hand and then block it and...
That yarn is begging to be rubbed against my face! Aren't those rainy days just the best!
Making my days...
Surprise, it is not Sunday. Figured I would pop in midweek and post. Look at it as my way of being unpredictable. Aren't I rowdy? It rained for a couple hours the other day. I pulled out a favorite tea pot and pretended it was a brisk fall day in AZ. Thinking I would love to share some...

little books
Sewing needlebooks can be a great escape from other equally important things... like folding laundry and feeding one's children. I made these four gingham bound needlebooks just for fun. One is for a friend and the others will go in the shop, later. I also made these two needlebook...
I am with you when it comes to the minds eye and knowing exactly what you want and not finding it !! Yes I get the giggles to when i think " just design it yourself" hahahaha!!
That little ones hair is just to much and that little "bunky" of hers up in the air as she sleeps...it odes not get any better than that!
The Calming Technique
After all the friends, family, picnics, and pool days of the past month, my girl and I spent a lovely, quiet past couple of days inside, in the air conditioning, doing not much. Not much at all. My very limbs were limp. I pushed the ottoman over to the chai...

Scappy ideas about scraps...

Well more crocheting and knitting this summer than sewing so far ,except for finishing up baby blankets for my new nephew . That is until I saw your Star Wars pillow last post . We were visiting with my mother in law and ran directly to her local quilt store and grabbed some prints ! All my boys big and small are crazy Star Wars fans . So I will make some for our basement/ " "man cave " !
I have just learned of Zakka this past year . We don't see it much in the quilt stores here in Nj . In fact I think your blog introduced me to it. So I am eager to try a project.
Thanks for the giveaway !
"Zakka Handmades" blog tour and giveaway!
Zakka. Do you know what it means? "Cute" doesn't cover it. Zakka is a Japanese term referring to those small everyday items that are both useful and charming, and oftentimes handmade with a simple, fresh aesthetic. Of course, I love zakka style and I love this new book "Zakka Handmades" for ...

for Nicholas :: the planets of Star Wars
A long time ago... not quite in a galaxy far, far away ~ but downstairs in my cozy sewing corner ~ I started a pillow for Nicholas using Lori Holt's circle rulers. I've enjoyed using the rulers to make circles before, but then I had an aha! moment and realized the circles could be planets......
