Moving my blog because I'm So SICK of #Typepad!
I have to be honest with yall when I say that another huge part of why I've been blogging less is that I'm truly sick of Typepad. I've been wanting to leave this platform for over two years now but my blog is so large that it locks up on every system trying to import it. Then...Typepad has t...
It had it's funny moments. I enjoyed it, some of the script I didn't care for but I understand that it's the pilot (capturing attention and what not). I will watch again next week, I'm sure that it will only get better.
Let's talk about "Black-ish."
I watched "Black-ish" last night along with a whole host of other people it seems: TV Ratings: 'Black-ish' Opens Strong, Nearly Matches 'Modern Family' I have been looking forward to the show since I first heard about it because hey...it was going to be on ABC and they have been known, recentl...
Beautiful robe, my winter robe reaches the top of my ankles. I would like to find one a bit longer.
Older.Wiser.Gentler.Framily-er
I am blessed that I have three best friends, lots of great friends and a whole host of really, really good friends. I have friends from waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in elementary school and people who's spirits I've fallen in love with instantly in more recent years. But I only have one best girlfrien...
Disciplining a 4 year old with a switch is abuse in my opinion. As the mother of a 4 year old I can't imagine why he thought that this form of punishment was acceptable. Most 4 year olds are still learning to share, and express emotions. Spanking any child with a switch to the point that you leave marks on the genitals is beyond wrong and at the age of 4?? I sometimes think that folks need to take a class and pass a test before they can become parents.
Abuse and Cultural Norms
Stats: Name: Adrian Peterson Age: 29 Kids: 7 Married: Yes (One child with his wife. Been with his wife since high school. Just married her this summer.) I'm a child of abuse. Because of this, I think I'm very conscious of the difference between spankings and beatings (ABUSE). Adrian Pe...
Sage green walls, walnut furniture with burgundy and cream accents. I'm in my bedroom.
Color Scheme
What color is the room you're sitting in right now?
This can be a hard lesson to learn especially for folks with a soft giving heart.
CreoleInDC Motto #427
I've had a lot of calls for my birthday of people wishing me well and it's been wonderful catching up with people I don't get a chance to talk to often since I'm truly not a phone person. The other day I caught up with a friend who has a heart of gold. Always has...always will. A couple of ...
Oh yeah! and I make no apologies... Stand back and hand me a cup of joe! LOL

Yippee!!! I am so happy for you and your family.
13700 Announcement!
We've been wanting to move home now for 5 years. This past winter I told my love that I didn't want to spend another winter up here and then told him to move us home for my 45th birthday gift. I'll be darned if my dude didn't make it happen. You know...cuz he's all super awesome and whatnot! N...
Happy Birthday! I pray that you have a fabulous day.
Mingo 45!!!!!!!!
Happy birthday to me! I hope you enjoy today as much as I'm going to! Off to pick out a tiara!
I love cooking and all that it entails. The planning, prep-work (slicing/dicing), experimenting with new recipes. I enjoy the compliments from family and friends when they request seconds. That being said I do have my off days when meals go horribly wrong and ordering out replaces my attempts at a healthy, delicious meal. I think that it is worth the effort for me to prepare meals daily for my family to ensure that we're eating healthy and it's a bonus for me that I enjoy it!
The Home Cooked Meal
A debate is ongoing about whether or not providing home cooked meals for your family is worth it. The Joy of Cooking? I generally cook every night but I don't have the demands that mothers generally have day-to-day so I don't really know. My mother cooked every night but back then...there we...
Yes, we all resemble each other. I love your black dress.
Family Resemblance
I'm always astonished by how much my family looks alike. You can pick us out anywhere. Does your family look alike too?
I joined a health club today, time to step up my fabulousness a notch.
Freddie is adjusting to his new schedule well. My favorite part of the day is when I pick him up from school and watching him run into my arms.
Next week is my birthday week. I am expecting lots of blessings.
Randoms of a Creole Princess
It's getting more difficult to find good books to read. Too many books to go through. I use the timer on my coffee maker to make my morning coffee now. My house is in a complete and total disarray and it has me extremely depressed. I'm in the middle of my birthweek and that feeling of excitemen...
I've been wearing them for several years now. My most comfortable shoes are Birks.
Thong Sandals
Up until recently, I've only owned one pair of thong sandals and I keep them in my truck for when I go get pedicures because I hate wearing those paper ones the nail salon provides. I have never liked the feeling of things between my toes and it's extremely uncomfortable to me. I was shopping...

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm currently working through clearing out the clutter both the physical and the mental clutter. I know that once the clutter is gone I can think more clearly and make wise decisions but sometimes it can be overwhelming when I take inventory of it all. What I do is break down stuff into super small steps and work 20 minutes at a time on a certain project then give myself a break. I'm a work in process.
Never seen "Baby Daddy" on Netflix. I've been watching "Leverage" on Netflix (that's my current time waster), really good show.
Cluttered Mind
I don't like clutter. I'm just like everyone else, however, and sometimes things get stacked up on top of each other. I have a specific clutter area. The area where I sit in the family room, my nightstand (inside and out) and any purse that I'm carrying. At any given time you can look at t...

I'm glad that you are back. Missed your beautiful words and insight. You have a unique gift with your words. Thank you for sharing.
"This is the day the Lord has made..."
"...let us rejoice and be glad in Him." My feelings about religion can be considered mired in memories too dark for the general public I believe. My mother used to say/sing that all the time. "This is the day the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in Him." And...depending on the mood...

Yes, every morning
Question...
Would you sit outside in your backyard or on your deck with your head scarf on or with rollers in your hair?
Random
Been a little quiet on this blog lately, though today I thought that I'd share some random thoughts/happenings... Freddie's been sick lately, got a doctor's appointment this afternoon I hate autism Watching my little guy have a seizure scares me EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm enjoying the warmer weather. Flower garden in the front of the house is finished and looks fabulous. Vegetable plants are ready to go in... Still deciding on a fence for the veggies Finn (our service dog) likes to swing from our tree (he's funny) Started exercising at home, not a habit yet, but it will be... Continue reading
