We had a chance to stop by Hometown Holidays yesterday, a street festival in Rockville Town Square, Rockville, Maryland. It was so hot, but we cooled down with some yummy milkshake! The cutest thing there was a kiddie ferris wheel, check out the picture below. You can see some more pictures on my Facebook page as well. The festival is still going on today, Monday, May 31st. There are no kids activities today, but you can check out a Memorial Day parade and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants at Rockville Town Square. Continue reading

My daughter and I went to the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival at Reston Town Center yesterday. Between people watching and dog watching, we squeezed in some shopping and art making. We headed down first to the Children's Art Tent, where we started with painting using magnets and finished with making an art with some play-doh like material. We also checked out the community mural and couldn't resist to contribute. We then walked around the festival to visit the various artists there. Make the time for a nice stroll at Kidwell Farm at Frying Pan Farm Park this spring. Kids just love this working farm! We visit the farm pretty frequently in the spring and summer times. Last time we went there, they had piglets, lambs, baby goats and calves. After saying hello to the farm animals, swing by the playground area. Celebrate the 5th birthday of Rozi and Asali at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore! Birthday party is on Saturday, May 15th, from 11 am to 1 pm. The Laurie Berkner Band was in town this past weekend, so my family planned a fun Baltimore outing for the entire weekend! It was a birthday party concert, so the stage was decorated with birthday presents and balloons. Many kids came with birthday party hats, ready to party with the band! Other parents bought their kids birthday party hats at the concert. I ran out of my birthday party hat supply, so I brought several blowouts for my daughter instead.
