I found this quite bright quilted skirt in my stash last week, and couldn't decide if it should become a shorter skirt or a bag...so I did both. The skirt needs a waistband facing (someday), so it's in the to-do... Continue reading

I've decided that my (mostly still undetermined) new year's resolutions are going to include a resolution to craft more! Specifically, at least one craft project per week, using inspiration from one of the many (many) books I've collected. I started... Continue reading

Wow, it's amazing how time flies. I went back to school to get yet another degree and all my refashioning time just went out the window. I made a pledge in November to finish up some projects and not buy... Continue reading

Up until this summer, I ran a lot of road races. (Jaw surgery in May curtailed my jogs for a while - first because I couldn't handle the impact, and then I just got kind of lazy...) As a result... Continue reading

Well, OK, they're not all sundresses. :) This first one was once a tube top - one of those smocked tops made of terry cloth. I got tired of wearing it and it was languishing in a drawer when I... Continue reading

I had this bright orange T in the re-fashioning stash, and decided to try it out with McCall's M8353, view C. I used another stash T for the middle layer, and an old running tank top for the base. Ignore... Continue reading

As usual, the summer is getting away from me and I haven't posted in a LOOONG time. I swear it's because I'm super busy, not just slacking... I had orthognathic surgery in May, and took a summer class for my... Continue reading

Wow! The thought of messing with boots scares me - way to go! :) They look great and it's awesome that you could fix them like that!

I did it - used some socks that I had to confiscate from the DH after the holes got too bad. :) Sewed up the holes, stuffed 'em and poured in a few drops of orange oil (it was my only option handy). Other than a closet that smells like Tang, this is pretty nifty! Now to find more socks that have outlived their first lives...

That is awesome! I don't care if my friends laugh, I am so going to try this tonight while I'm stuck at home w/ Sick Hubby and Small Furry Dog - neither of which are doing much to stimulate conversation...it's a quiet house tonight! :) Could you add something to scent the stuffing as well, you think?

It's a can of spray paint. I was trying to go for a "punk baby" thing for the guys, since the mommies had already gotten so much cute baby stuff. They're in a rock band.... :) The stencils are from Ed Roth's Stencil 101 book, btw. :) These are the 6th and 7th boy baby gifts I've made this year. Why can't any of my friends have girls??? :)

You can only get so far without an iron, or with a non-sleeping baby, huh? :) I love the pattern on the bag!
