Nature's Emporium is one of the greatest stores in the universe! Perk, the owner, is a treasure herself and a pioneer female business owner who has passed all the tests of time and trial. I admire Perk greatly and love shopping in her store!

Thank you for this Remembrance. I remember that we had just gotten our little puppy Penny a few days before and was hugging her tight watching what was happening on TV. At first I thought it was just a small plane accident, then when the second plane hit the other building we knew it was much more. Mark drove over to Scenic Overlook and watched the other Tower go down. We will never forget the horror of that day and those who were lost. We cherish all those dear friends we still have, especially you Susan.

Hi Susan, Thanks again for doing this post. I can't take much of the credit, as Mark should get all of it, but do appreciate everyone's nice comments. To answer one of your reader's Sue, what we do with all the tomatoes is can them, just like grandma used to do. Of course we are eating and giving them to friends and some local folks in need, but the rest are canned and stored in the basement to use in the winter for chili, sauce, etc. Mark also likes to open a jar and eat them right from a bowl for lunch. We also make cold gazpacho and even Bloody Mary mix! Lots of time spent in the kitchen these days! Thank you for your interest.

Hey Susan! You really hooked me with the last picture having the card written with "Ozark Pudding". This lady had some midwestern roots as the only Ozarks I know of are in Missouri. In fact I went there on my honeymoon! This reminds me of my grandmother's and mother's recipe boxes. I have a big one of my mom's. Come over for coffee and we'll take a trip through it!

Hey Susan, Isn't everyone kind of "Zen-like" this year? The artsy touches are so interesting. Thanks for including Mark's Father's Day windsock!
