You got this from Victoria Taft, she blew it on this one.
The original tweet was about a cat on the fishhook, the fishhook is the turn the red line makes coming into and going out of Gateway. It was a real cat.
One of the subscribers made a joke about that and it was re-tweeted by scanner cause it was funny.
Victoria didn't read the twitter thread nor did she listen to the CALL!
Multipurpose Trains
MAX Light Rail is the centerpiece of the city's public transportation system As if the gang-bangers weren't enough, Tri-Met's light rail "trains" have also been serving as places of business for a prostitution ring. Giggity! Talk about convenience.... Last Tuesday (05/07/13), cops and transit ...
Where in the world did you dig this up?
It's fantastic we've made this point at various locations around the internet.
The thing is, people would love it and ride it.
But guess what, no boondoggle spending and no pocket lining.
And the whole purpose of these ridiculous capital projects is to line pockets at tax payer expense.
Tri-Mess And The Train To Nowhere
The former transit agency (now a development agency) is spending $1.5 billion to build a 7.3-mile light rail line into northwest Clackamas County, despite the fact that most county residents oppose it. By the way, that $1.5 billion is only the construction costs; operating the "trains" will cost...
Are we the only people that can see this farce for what it is?
Tri-Mess Defense Team Swings Into Action
The Steel Bridge in Portland, Oregon while fully raised. Great story in The Oregonian today about yesterday's light rail failure, and the story illustrates why the newspaper's lost another nearly 8% of its circulation during the past year. Crack Zero reporter Joseph Rose homes in on the proble...
Pretty good summation of actual events that you find in very few places..
Thanks for that.
The Glories Of Rail
TriMet's ticket machines are notoriously unreliable, which may account for part of the reason why comparatively few bother to pay to ride their trains. Some machines have had reported downtimes of over 35%, and today, local media reports that as many as 2,000 people a month, attempting to pay wi...
Portland is to Oregon as Chicago is to Illinois, with one big difference: in Illinois, corrupt politicians and their cronies occasionally go to jail.
Ain't it da truth!
Trouble Ahead, Trouble Behind
Tri-Met just can't catch a break. They want trains, and people just won't go along with their grand plans. So they're suing Clackamas County for holding up their outrageous dog-and-pony show. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, their long-planned extension into Clark County looks headed for the toilet...
Funny and insightful as always
Climate Change Strikes Portlandia
Hot on the heels of a recent City Auditor report noting that Porkland's "leaders" have been spending millions on regional and transit projects that fall outside the scope of the city's role while allowing road maintenance to deteriorate to the point that nearly half are in poor condition, advoca...

Ridin' That Train
O'Toole, over at Antiplanner, notes that Sacramento, which has 37 miles of loot rail yet has seen a decrease in transit use, is thinking Streetcar! That's the ticket! They figure that if they build 18 miles of pokey streetcar lines, that'll entice folks out of their cars and spur billions of dol...
That IS funny and very relevant!
Greeks Don't Worry About Banning "Plastic" Bags
Average folks in that country aren't worrying about Saving the Polar Bears from man-made global warming. They're not worrying about whether or not to ban "plastic" bags, either. Actually, they like them. No, they have other things to worry about. Did you know that: According to a new study...
Nice post!
quote of the week: the mayor on those portland powerpoints
No planner from the city of Portland should be going to national conferences and bragging about how smart we are about urban planning in Portland until we have an actionable plan to make 122nd & Division a great place. ... We have a lot of work to do to make the hype about how livable Portla...
Nice article!
And you didn't even get on the union bashing boat ride!
Impressive!
The TriMet civil war: taxes, entitlements, and the mythical "Portland creep"
Portland Streetcar and MAX train (photo by drburtoni via Flickr) BY BRIAN LIBBY Depending on where you live in the Portland metro area, what tax bracket you occupy and your mode of getting around, the regional transit service is either failing to meet your needs or grossly over-reaching. It's ...
