For two years, I've given 80% of my time and re-invested 99% of my business profit in service of bringing this Human-Centered, Respectful, and Purpose-Driven approach to daily living to life. I'm calling it AGILE Life Design because even the process is customizable to fit the unique needs of each individual. There are no cookie cutters and there is NO punishment for non-compliance. But it all means nothing in today's world UNLESS lots of other people actively show their support in some way. If we can get at least 1200 - 1500 people to register and show their support of this concept, publishers will take notice. But beyond that, I need your support because publishers often want to change a message to make sure it will be "marketable." I can't do that. I would rather stop writing than "misrepresent" what AGILE life Design really means or to make AGILE Life Design sound more conventional just so that it will sell. I insist on using clean, non-controlist language because letting go of control and learning self-cooperation is at the heart of this message. Want to support the mission of making Agile Life Design Skills available as an affordable book? Even if you can't listen to all the classes. Your registration is like a VOTE for me to keep going and for publishers to pay attention. Quantum Productivity Strategies for ADHD: The Art of Getting Big Results from Small Changes ______________________________________________________ PRESENTED BY: ADDClasses.com INSTRUCTOR: Ariane Benefit, M.S.Ed., Founder of Agile Life Design and pioneer of the Quantum Productivity program for healing challenging disorganization from the inside out. DATE: Tuesday November 16, 2010 TIME: 9:00 pm EDT (New York Time) Listen over the Telephone or Internet! F*ree Reply available for 1 week only. There is no download. ______________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: Having ADHD is like having a high speed, non-linear, digitally wired brain that processes information differently from most people. Our brains don't have the natural wiring needed to tolerate using organizing and productivity systems that rely on following repetitive, machine-like processes or scheduled routines. People with ADHD simply do not think or work like machines. The good news is that you do NOT have to function like a machine in order to feel confident that the essentials of life will get done. There are many ways to get things done that ARE compatible with ADHD! What you need is a whole different kind of Owner's Manual for your brain. One that *fits* with the way your brain naturally works. Quantum Productivity for ADHD is not a *system* you *follow.* It is a simple yet radically different framework of principles, strategies and practical tools that help you harness the power of the way your brain works to solve your unique productivity challenges. You don’t have to change who you are – just learn how to “drive” the brain you have. With "Quantum Productivity", you will develop a strategic foundation for winning the game of productivity – YOUR WAY. This free teleseminar will provide you with A greater understanding of why conventional approaches to productivity and organizing don’t work for ADHD. Several strategies that adults with ADHD can start using immediately to *strategize* commitments and get things done without having to change who you are. ______________________________________________________ HOW TO REGISTER The recording of this class is sponsored by and available in the Audio Library at: ADDClasses.com

This Article has been updated and posted on my new Lotus Bridge website/blog! I invite you to come and read the new and improved version. Is it ADHD or Creative Personality Type? This has been one of the most popular posts on this blog since I first published it a few years ago...I thought it worth updating and sharing with my new subscribers. This has been a very busy summer as I've been coaching full-time and working on a new book when I wasn't tending to our very first vegetable garden (we grew squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, basil, and spearmint for the very first time ever!) or dealing with all the unexpected distractions of life - like multiple car breakdowns, having to have a tooth pulled, or getting systemic poison ivy. So, I haven't been able to post as much as I'd hoped, or accomplish as much as I'd hoped, but that's one of the things I enjoy about "inspiration-based" vs. scheduled blogging...there are no deadlines! : ) UPDATED: 8-23-10 Many ADHD traits are actually the same as those of people with "creative personality types" as described in the MBTI. Having a creative personality type doesn't mean you are an "artist" necessarily, though you may be. It's broader than that. Creative personality types include people who love to explore, take risks, try new things, solve problems, research and continuously learn new things. They tend to get bored with anything that is too repetitive or that stays the same for too long. They thrive on growth, change and yes, novelty. After all, growth and change implies novelty. Something new the person is experience or is now capable of. Growth is what separates us from machines. Creative people "need" change and growth more than they need "stability" and security. I frequently wonder how my creative personality type (According to the MBTI I'm an ENTP) and ADHD are connected because when you compare the traits of both, it's striking how similar they are. The main differences seem to be in the degree, frequency, and impact these "traits" have on our lives. Both ADHD and the Creative Personality Types share many characteristics. Below is a list of ADD traits that I've culled from reading ADD books. COMMON ADD TRAIT DESCRIPTIONS INCLUDE: High energy and restless / Hyperactivity Impulsivity Takes on too many projects Loses interest easily High impatience May fail to follow through, forget appointments Tendency to hyperfocus and not be able to easily break out of it Tendency to see everything at once, to think "globally" and see many possibilities at once, making it difficult to make certain kinds of decisions Higher than average tolerance for chaos and change Often exhibit high risk-taking, high stimulation seeking behavior Often hyper-reactive and sensitive - Strong reactions to thoughts, noise, people talking, everything in their environment - may notice everything, or tend to shut down and become inattentive to everything, or a combination of both Tend to criticize themselves constantly Tend to always be scanning or...

The more I've learned about ADD, the more I wonder if it's really a "disorder" or if it's a different kind of brain. One that is uniquely designed to excel at creativity and improvisation - not planning, scheduling and following routines. People with ADHD who are "high functioning" seem to have one major thing in common. Careers that play to their creative strengths and provide validation and fulfillment of their needs on many levels, financially, emotionally, and mentally - some even spiritually. This updated article is dedicated to my fellow "addventurers" in life. : ) "What Should I Do With My Life?" I was inspired to write this article by a client with ADD who is in the process of changing careers - again. Most of us, ADD or not, believe it is important to do work you really love. Yet many us experience great difficulty figuring out how to do this. The journey can be excruciatingly painful - especially when we feel we have to settle for work "we know we can get" just so that we can make a living. The longer we are in jobs like that, the harder it is to get out. So many people are in jobs that they feel are eating them alive...and yet they stay. Partly because they feel that people will think they are unstable or unreliable if they keep changing jobs. Others are just afraid they that if they found a new job, it would be worse than the one they have now. Or maybe they would lose insurance, or they would never be able to get what they are being paid now. And then there are those of us who relentlessly pursue the "What Should I Do With My Life?" question. We are looking for our "calling" - the experience of having work that doesn't feel like work because we love it so much. When it comes to answering this "What Should I Do With My Life?" question, there seem to be two basic types of people in this world. Knowers and Seekers. Knowers The knowers are people whose lives seem to follow a straight line path, like Bill Clinton. They knew exactly what they were meant to do from a very early age. They are focused and have acheived really great things. They experience turmoil like all of us, but in a different way. They are focused on HOW to get what they KNOW they want. The rest of us have to first figure out WHAT we really want. We are the "Seekers" Seekers - The Evolutionary Path Most of the people I know who have ADHD and/or highly creative personality, including myself, are in this group. Seekers are often uncertain. We tend to envy those who have a clear sense of who they are and are certain they know what they should do for a living. Seekers spend a good portion of their lives trying to figure it out before discovering what they were meant to do....
