The last winter farmer's market in Burlington was held yesterday and it was fun to see what was left at the end of the season. After I ate my requisite Tibetan "Momos" with their delicious hot sauce (you could pour that stuff over dumpling shaped cardboard and I'd eat it up!) I wandered around to see what I could do with what there was. I was delighted to find the mushroom guy there with pints of SHIITAKE for $3. My roommate Isabel's rents are from Westchester, NY and this past weekend they brought her Easter treats in the form of fresh mozzarella from Mozzarella House on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, Prosciutto from some other yummy place in the city and as it was a holiday weekend full of feasting out, the treats needed immediate attention. Isabel fondly remembered a pizza with vodka sauce that she'd had in Brooklyn and as I have a standing offer of "You buy, I'll fry" I volunteered to make it for our dinner. Thanks for your input Mitch. I agree with you 100%. If you read through this, you will see why this had to go public. Since we're on topic, it's still public because it seems to help people who are in similar situations. I think that's the best possible outcome for an otherwise useless situation.
