How very generous of you to share this! The instructions are clearly written and illustrated. The pattern looks wonderful. I like how you gave us the inspiration for the pattern. Mucho gracias!

I can see these as a theme for a workshop. Will these go in a book? or exhibit? or some other special project?

I got a chuckle out of the comment for the nasty secretary! Just wanted to comment today as I've been following along and appreciate that you are taking the time to share your process. It's very inspiring. ~Sharon (from Houston, TX)

How wonderful to be in Frida's world to be so inspired. Here is a Frida collage I made: http://www.flickr.com/photos/e14studio/185810224/

After watching the videos, I pretty much work the way you described which is to layer as you go. I am now to the point on my experimental cloth where the edges on the perimeter are made up of various patches of fabric so it's irregular and I'm trying to decide whether to trim, add a border edge or just let the irregular patches of cloth define the finished piece. In your videos, you basically have a cut of fabric on the bottom layer define the overall border. JUst wondering if anyone else is dealing with border edge issues. Maybe that's a topic in itself for another time. My decision is to put the cloth aside for awhile and work on something else. Thanks for the inspiration. ~Sharon p.s. wasn't the royal wedding a wonderful diversion to watch. And the dress.... oh to be there when that was being stitched!!!

It's taking a little getting used to having bits and pieces of sewn cloth lying about. I usually start and finish one piece at a time when it comes to my art quilts. Often I visualize the finished piece in my head before I begin. Not so with the whispering hearts. A good challenge to break habits.

I wish I was there, but there's always Houston in November. (I hope to take a class with you then.)
