Years ago I spent much time researching the history of chocolate and learning how to make traditional Meso American drinking elixirs. This mandala is inspired by the Aztec elixir "xocoatl", the magical and intoxicating drink of chocolate infused with spices and roses ~ a true aphrodisiac. ~ cacao nibs, almonds, vanilla, chili, cloves, cinnamon, raw sugar, dried and fresh rose... I deeply adore snails. During a recent visit to a citrus grove, I witnessed the land literally moving, as thousands of snails made their way along the ground among the lemon trees. Unfortunately this environmental imbalance is treated with chemicals, and waves of dried shells abound. Continue reading

Started some wonderful work near Montecito, CA this past week that I will share later on. While traveling out to the Channel Islands, we were blessed by 4 blue whales and 11 humpbacks circling the boat. About 1100 dolphins greeted us in total euphoria as we returned to the harbor. An amazing field of joy. Continue reading

While home in Santa Fe, NM. Returning the next morning. This altar is located on a steep hill in a tiny valley. Mary was falling apart the last time I visited, so I did my best to restore her. Several wonderful changes began to occur in the village, including more Mary statues arriving in the community. Now she's receiving frequent... Continue reading

I love these little yodas. He was so patient with me while I photographed him. He yawned after, and tried to tuck himself further down into the flower, as if pulling the pedals up over himself to go to bed. ~~~ I've been lovingly tending 25 rose bushes over the summer, and this is a delightful gift to receive in... An enchantment would not be complete without a selkie to infuse it's otherworldly magic. I recently traveled to southern CA and was blessed to enjoy much wonderful sea life. "The leaping joy of the dolphin suggests free expression of the soul released from fear, and freed to express the divine creativity, playfulness and loving nature that is the essence of... As I began gathering flowers for a new piece, this tiny messenger appeared. This singer of songs is the gift of transformation, cleansing, and rebirth. Thru it's ancient song, frog reminds us to replenish the waters of our spirit, and to cleanse the waters of the earth. 8' diameter: black eyed susan, echinacea, joe pye weed, rose Continue reading

black eyed susan, echinacea, verbena, dahlia, joe pye weed, rose The black eyed susans started to wilt before I could expand into a full flower of life. This piece is like a sketch. Having worked within a short window of time, I see where I could have created more dimensions in this floral star. Weaving masculine and feminine energy in... Continue reading
