Summer is holding on for dear life as we round out August here in VA. It hit 100 degrees the other day and I about melted walking to my car from work. Quite honestly, I can't believe this is the final few days of August already. Where has the time... Continue reading

Good morning, fellow stitchers! I felt the need to write "good morrow" as if I was in merry ol' England, but then didn't, because I'm confident at least one of you would question my lingering sanity, so that's where we're at today. Aaaanyhooter. Here we are, a week after Halloween,... Continue reading

Hello, friends! Our weather went from cold and rainy straight to the heat and humidity of July, all in a matter of days. And it's not even Memorial Day! Perfect to sit inside where it's a smidge cooler and catch up on some stitching. What have you guys been working... Continue reading

Hi Pam! If you don't have a local needlework shop, In Stitches in Alexandria, VA would be able to order the pattern and the beads for you (https://www.institchesneedlework.com/contact/). Or, you could go to the Wichelt website, which has all of the available Mirabilia designs (www.wichelt.com). On their site, you choose which of their authorized retailers to have your items shipped from. You can order the beads as well - you can either order each bead individually, or, you can get the Snow Queen embellishment pack, which has all of the beads you need for that project. I hope this is helpful! Happy stitching!

Well, here we are, folks. Right smack in the holiday season. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I managed to find some time to stitch this past weekend, and finished up the second dress in Dressmaker's Daughter. This is another gorgeous Mirabilia piece that's been in my stash... I used to stitch a lot of Mill Hill buttoned and beaded kits, mainly for gifts at Christmas. I loved how the beads buttons would add so much life to the stitching, giving it an extra layer of beauty. While I got away from them for a few years, I've... Continue reading

I'm on a wintery, Christmassy roll here so far this first week of spring! haha. I've had the Beggar's Christmas piece kitted for what feels like decades, so recently, I decided to start it and get it out of my "you're next" pile. I stitched Beggar's Halloween and 4th by... Continue reading

I'm absolutely one of those stitchers who stitches Christmas all year round. I don't have too many winter-themed pieces, however, so I've been starting to stock up on those. I want to remain festive after Christmas, but don't necessarily need to keep all my Christmas pieces out through February. Although,... Continue reading

Thank you, Jeannine! I wish it hadn't taken me so long to fix it - I love the finished piece, and am anxious to start another one in the series! I also have Christmas at Hawk Run, so I'm torn between starting Autumn or Christmas.

Friends, it's been a while since we chatted. I am very much a homebody, but I gotta tell ya, being home a lot for the past foreverandaday is taking its toll. One good thing about being home more, is that I've been able to finish up some very long-standing WIPs.... Continue reading

Hi Catherine! Thank you for the correct fabric color name! I'm so glad you got your fabric and will be stitching this soon. I loved stitching Snow Queen (as I do all the Mirabilia pieces I stitch ;)), and I hope you do, too!

That's a bummer that Crystal Legacy wasn't available! Champagne Bubbles sounds equally as lovely, and sounds way fancier than Crystal Legacy. haha. I hope you were able to start stitching her this summer! :)
Hi Margaret! I think this would be wonderful to stitch for your sister and brother-in-law. How fortunate they were to be married by Father Judge!
Hi Maggie!! I'm so excited you'll be stitching Miss Christmas Eve!! She is absolutely one of my favorites, and I hope you love stitching her as much as I did! :-)

Hello! Happy Thursday! Man, what a state we're all in, huh? I've been teleworking for what feels like decades. Although I am fortunate in that I have the ability to work from home, it has absolutely taken its toll. There's something to be said for getting up and going to... Continue reading

Happy April! Yesterday was a rainy, gloomy day, and today isn't looking much better. Here's hoping April showers bring those May flowers! I could use some color and cheer these days. Speaking of cheer, one thing that does make me happy is stitching all things Christmas. I can't help myself.... Continue reading

Thanks, Robin! I think you may have mentioned Best Press to me before. I wrote it down so I won't forget this time! Thank you (and your stitching pal!) for the tip! Be well and stay safe!
Thank you, Robin! I really do love this series. It's so much stitching, but well worth it in the end. I've been thinking about picking up either Yuletide Welcome, Liberty Welcome, or Ghoultide Welcome from Plum Street Samplers. I've had them in my "to be stitched next" pile for so long...it might be time to actually start one of them!
Thank you, Robin! It's always so nice to hear from you. I'm so glad you're stitching daily! It's such a comfort, isn't it? Especially during this time. Ooooo how did you like that book? I'm always looking for good book recommendations!

I don't know about where you guys are, but the end of last week gave us a little taste of summer, and now I want it. Bring me all the warmth and flowers and sunshine and poolside reading time. This lovely piece is Basketful of Summertime by With Thy Needle... Continue reading

It's been ages since I picked up my Quaker Christmas piece, "Faith", and I finished it last weekend. This is the second of a three-part series, "Joy", "Faith", and "Peace". I thought it was a perfect time to share this piece, given that we're all kinda anxious right now, not... Continue reading

You all know by now how much I love stitching Mirabilia pieces. I love them. The detail is incredible, and they never disappoint. As usual, when I start a Mirabilia piece, it's hard to put down. I swore I wouldn't start anything new (HAHAHA) until I was done at least... Continue reading

Thank you, Lorraine!! I looked up Dusk on the PtP website, and you're right, Dusk does look more grey than this piece that I have. It could be that it was mislabeled - Gothic and Mystic look closer to the fabric that I used; Phantom is also close, although darker with more purple. I would suggest choosing Gothic or Mystic instead of Dusk. I did not use the crystal fabric, but I think that could look incredible. The crystal would give more sparkle, and look like snow :) .

Hello fall! I honestly wasn't sure the temperatures would ever cool off. While I welcome the warmth of summer, I am grateful the temps finally dipped below 90 degrees. I'm tired of sweating all the time. I don't know how Texans do it. Plus, I have new boots for fall... Continue reading

I've been on a patriotic kick this year, and instantly fell in love with this Dyeing To Stitch club piece from Plum Street Samplers. The house was a bear to stitch, and I'm still going through and filling in the white mortar between the bricks, but at least the house... Continue reading
