Excellent post. If we look at the military healthcare system we used all of our careers, we can see what some of Obamacare is going to be like. Most military hospitals no long have Emergency Rooms because of abuse. Sine it was FREE, ER's were visited for the slightest of ailments. If no doctor appointments were available, you ran junior to the ER for his sniffles or bellyache. Under Obamacare, ER's are going to be overflowing even more than they are now. My son was born in England back in the early 80's. Since we have Champus, we had a private doctor and when she came due, a private hospital room. Those women who had National Healthcare, saw whoever was on duty when the had a doctor visit and instead of private rooms, they shared a room with about a dozen other women. You easily saw the difference between quality healthcare and what seemed like a MASH outfit but only for babies. I forsee many doctors going into private practice, only accepting patients with certain types of insurance policies. They'll have that option and your best ones will do it...I would.

I spent 26 years active duty in the USAF, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. The man who taught me what it was to be a Senior NCO; to be a leader and manager of men was a Mormon Bishop. For five years he took me and other upcoming NCO’s under his wing and groomed us for increased responsibility; he led by example. He never tried to force his religion on anyone nor did he ever put his bishop duties ahead of his military obligations except for one occasion. On that occasion we had a KC-135 crash on landing, killing the flight crew of six men. The co-pilot was one of his church members and he left work, as the man’s minister, to tell his wife and children their husband/father would never be coming home again. Throughout my military career, I have witnessed Mormons serve honorably, putting their military duties before all else, with many, like the co-pilot, paying the ultimate sacrifice.

Exactly VW. In the military, we criticize our leadership, especially our civilian leadership, in private, amongst ourselves and rank structure but in public, we remain quiet and support those in authority over us. Sgt Stein violated that rule and now pays the price.

In the overall big picture, 5 billion is a pittance. Buffett shot off his mouth about having a lower tax rate than his secretary but why doesn't he tell us what he pays her in salary and benefits? I would be willing to be she makes close to, if not over, seven figures per year. Executive secretaries virtually control the lives of people like Buffett. Next to Buffet, she's the most powerful person in his organization as nobody...nobody...sees Warren Buffett without going through her first.

That's tragic what happened to that boy but nobody had heard the full story yet. But, listening to the 911 tapes, the guy was looking for a confrontation but I don't believe he meant to shoot anybody. No decent person wants to shoot someone and end a life needlessly. Obama's comments already condemned the man. What's happening now with the DOJ getting involved has nothing to do with this boy getting shot. It has nothing to do with race or anything else like that. What's going to take place is an attack on Concealed Weapons Carry and Castle Doctrine Laws. Kids are shot every day and noting but local law enforcement investigate it. You just provided a good example. Today the Florida governor announced a panel to investigate their Castle Doctrine laws. The DOJ screwed up big time with Fast and Furious but now this unfortunate incident has given them another shot at it.
