Taking a break
I'm afraid that, given how little time I'm spending using it and my current financial situation, Lucky Number 2d6 is going to be taking a break for a while. I may look into relaunching via one of the free blogging... Continue reading

Merry Christmas and all that stuff
Well, as is pretty obvious from the lack of recent posts, I got a bit distracted over the last month and haven't been keeping things up to date around here. I'll be trying to be a bit more regular with... Continue reading

Not dead, just busy
Been quiet around here for a while now, thanks largely to a stinking cold and a job interview (not the ideal combination, but fingers crossed), as well as my innate laziness. I'll try to post a bit more regularly this... Continue reading

Also, there are already several Batman designs that people have done in Forza 3, but I haven't come across a good Superman - lots of examples of the 'S' logo, but none of the man of steel himself.
Once more unto the paintshop, part 4
Got the first pass at the line work for head and face done. Unfortunately, while it looks pretty good in the editor, once it's on the car the scaling messes up a lot of the detail, especially around the nose: I'll have to give it a revision, thickening some of the lines and simplifying some ...
Nah, I'm actually not a Supes fan, but I do love the Superman/Batman stuff by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness, and wanted to do some designs based on it.
Decided to do Supes first as he's more complicated (having a full face and that pesky chest logo) and it gives me Bats to look forward to. =)

Go see Zombieland
On first hearing about it, I have to admit that I expected it to be nothing more than a pale American imitation of Shaun Of The Dead, but I was wrong - Zombieland is a damn funny movie in its... Continue reading

New season: More shows
Although the initial rush is over, the varying schedules of the different networks means that the new US TV season continues to roll out new and returning shows. Here's a quick run-down of the ones I've managed to catch... Hank... Continue reading

Blockbusters revisited: Star Trek
Sadly, as much as I enjoyed it in the cinema, J J Abrams' rebooted Star Trek didn't really hold up nearly so well the second time around. Instead of allowing me to notice more things that I liked, knowing what... Continue reading

New season: Returning Shows
As well as many new US TV shows, last week saw the return of several that I enjoy, including House, The Mentalist, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Heroes and Dollhouse. I haven't had a chance... Continue reading

Guilty pleasures: Blood and Bone
As a child of the '70s and a teenager of the '80s, more of my youth than entirely necessary was spent watching action and martial arts movies of wildly variable quality and production values. Which probably goes some way to... Continue reading

I quite enjoyed the first season, but haven't caught up on the second yet. Will get around to it - one of the few advantages of being jobless is that it gives me a lot of time to catch up on TV and movies. =)
New seasons are in the air
As September rolls on, the Fall TV season is finally getting under way in the US, which hopefully means there'll be some shows worth watching for a change - other than the darkly comic brilliance of True Blood, there's been precious little of note over the Summer. The CW was first out of the gat...

Nothing in particular - I still think it's a fun game, but my interest just started to flag, and with money getting ever-tighter, I cancelled a few months ago.
Third time's the charm?
In the search for something to occupy my time while I continue to look for a new job, Lucky Number 2d6 is rising from the ashes of ennui for a second time. I'm afraid that it's going to remain a fairly self-indulgent place, without any real focus or even point, beyond giving me somewhere to wri...
