Addiction is insidious. Once you become addicted to a substance or behavior, it's very difficult to break it's hold over you. For me, I had to reach my rock bottom and realize the only way I was going to be free of alcohol was through my faith in God (and a lot of AA meetings). The addictive thinking can be pervasive - often transferring from one substance or behavior to another until the core issues are addressed. Having said that, THERE IS HOPE. For me, I take it one day at a time and I'm fortunate to have 20+ years of sobriety. Thank you for talking about these issues, Tim and Grace Church.
