I can't wear white like that at all. If it was me, I'd tea-dye it (or even RIT or another store bought dye) to an ivory color or maybe even a pale green or grey.

I used to just like you, Erin, now I love you. I plan on spending all next weekend reading Zero History. I'm sure my character will see your character, at least "off screen."

I suggest Dylon for overdying. No need to color remove first. I usually use a packet of navy and packet of black together for dying jeans, but I like mine really dark. Make sure to use plenty of salt too.

So cute! And I love that top. I'm actually slowly working my way to opening a small online store of inexpensive, one of a kind children's clothes. Essentially refashions of thrifted adult clothes into classic children's fashions, but they are typically in more adult color themes. I'm really glad to see this post because it gives me hope that there's definitely an audience/market for people who don't want to dress their kid's in Barbie pink and cartoon characters all the time.

I think it looks fantastic. I suspect you'll get TONS of compliments n it if you wear it out. I recently refashioned a 40s dress I got at a thrift shop. I had it for about 8 months before I cut into it. It just seemed too risky. And then I realized that the worst thing that could happen was that it would be unwearable. You know what? It was unwearable BEFORE I cut into it. So cutting meant I had the possibility of a nice, new to me garment and not cutting meant I had something pretty taking up space that I'd never get into. So basically my new philosophy is that by refashioning vintage clothes you are saving them from being trash. :)
