The blood blisters are accumulations of this liquid in the outermost layer of the skin. When an injury occurs in the blood vessels , for example due to a light tap or pinch, blood is released and a bubble forms. To avoid embarrassing bulbs , you must address their causes, whether of shots (in protecting your feet , keeping them dry and moisturizing), irritation (avoiding the use of chemicals abrasive for the skin), infections (often washing your hands, not touching sores or cuts on the skin of others ...). In this article we will see how to handle blood-filled blisters .When the bulb appears, the first thing to do is to apply cold on the area. You can put ice cubes in a towel and place it on your bulb. Do not exceed 10 minutes. You can do it 2 or 3 times, but making pauses 5 to 10 minutes between each application so that the blood supply continues in the area and prevent a burn due to cold occurs. This reduces blood flow by vasoconstriction (constriction of blood vessels) and the bulb will become smaller. 2 The size of a blood blister can also be reduced by elevating the affected limb (leg, arm ...) above heart level. In this way, we promote venous circulation (blood does not stagnate in the veins and it flows better through gravity to the heart). It is always better not to break the bulb . The skin forms a protective barrier against infection. If we break this barrier, it is very likely that infection appears. You must keep this as long as possible layer. The blood will subside and there will be no problem. It is simply to keep the area clean bulb and not to exert undue pressure on it. When the bulb breaks for any reason, the first thing to do is to disinfect the area. If possible, use a local antiseptic (chlorhexidine better than povidone-iodine) or liquid ointment. Otherwise, wash well with soap and water to the affected area and allow the blood to drain. Then dry well and cover the bulb with sterile gauze or a clean garment. Never remove excess skin, or cut it out. The more skin and better: so it will continue to protect the inner layer still open bulb. The skin will regenerate within a few days. We have to watch that signs of infection do not appear, which are: Heat: you feel the area is warmer than what is around. Redness: she blushed. Wart: it is inflamed. Pain. The combination of these signs indicates the presence of infection. In this case, you should go see your doctor and see if you need an antibiotic, topically or orally, to treat blood bulb. This article is just informative, because ToutComment is not able to diagnose or offer medical treatment. See a doctor if you experience the symptoms described in the articles or if you feel bad.
