This is an all-around great golf course for both beginners and experienced players. Obviously the par 6 is a hole to remember, but I would like it to be a little longer in order to earn the par 6 title. I sliced my tee shot into the huge valley on the left (I’m a lefty) and even with a poor shot out of there I was able to manage par. this hole just needs more distance. The Par 3 #13 is the sleeper hole to remember if you ask me. The longest par 3 on the course (184 and 224) plays to one of the narrowest greens I have ever seen. There is a huge trap in front waiting for any mishits and a smaller trap in the back for anyone that goes long. This green is no more than 10 paces at its widest point.
I am very happy to see that my comment got noticed. thank you guys for taking note and making changes to your site. it makes your information very reliable and will keep me comming back and making more comments.
I Played this course August 3rd 2012 and got confused as i walked up to the first tee. I was expecting this long downhill par five but i look at the score card and it was only a par 4. It turns out that they reversed the first seven holes of each nine, leaving 8, 9, 17, and 18 the same. it also confused my GPS that apparently didnt know the cousre was changed either. There is no way that you can walk this course. some tee boxes are minutes away from each other in a cart. im sure that there could have been a better way to design this. also the fairways were eaten up like in the post.
i Played Lido July 22, 2012 and it was in the worst condition of any course i have played all year by far. you could not tell where the rough ended and the fairways began on any of the holes, every tee box was a different length which really playes with your head when your sticking your tee in the ground, and by far the worst part was that you could not walk around the course without getting stuck behind a rope. there were numerous fairways that you could not hit out of because it was either under repair our just dirt. All of these problems along with a 5 hour round means i will not be back here for a long time.

wow sorry about that i saw Timber Point and guess i just went with it. im looking foward to seeing the Suffolk 18, that would be a fun course. also do you guys have a flyover of the woods course at cherry creek? this really is a great website thanks again guys.
I wish i had found this website a lot sooner than today. i started this year trying to play all the courses on long island. I am about 3/4 of the way through and it has been great. Just a few comments. Hole #11 - Eisenhower Blue is the course i play the most because its in my back yard but it should not be anywhere on this list. there are a lot of great courses on LI and that is not anywhere near the top of the list. how about #11 at Mill Pond where you have to either bomb a drive over a river you cant see or lay up and have a long 2nd shot. or if you want a par 5 why not #11 at Pine Ridge? much better par 5 in my book. Hole #18 - i do not dissagree with this pick at all, i just dont know how The Links at Cherry Creek #18 is not in there. its the only par 6 on the island. i admit it might be a little bit of a gimmick but its still cool to play a 670 yard hole.
