A friend's 11-year-old son was lamenting the fact that it's August now, which means that summer is almost over! We laughed and assured him that he still has plenty of time before school starts. Still, as I was walking the dog today, I did get a bit of a fall... Continue reading

Is it inherently selfish to follow your dreams? When you're a mom? Sometimes I feel that way, or at least I think others might see it that way. Or should I ask, is it inherently selfish to have a career in the arts? Especially if the struggle to build and... Continue reading

I am leaving my job at the end of this year. I'm leaving behind an early childhood program that I started and have worked hard to institute over the past three years - which is now a big success! I'm leaving the tuition benefits that allow my children to go... Continue reading

I'm sorry about your father and hope he has the very best treatment - I've been there with my own father and wish you all the best. Your girls are so delightful to "watch" grow up.

"I’ve been thinking that the internet was my medium. Now? Not so much." You've perfectly captured something that's been happening to me over the past couple of years. Having (re)discovered my true medium has made me more happy than I can say. I'm still ready for Spring though!!

I am thinking about what to do with this blog. I mean, I'm paying for the "use" of Typepad each freaking month and for what? To have these blogs languishing around in the online ether? It's not that I have anything particularly deep or important to say. But I do enjoy writing about my crazy little life, if only to jog my own memory somewhere on down the line . . . Continue reading

Happy New Year! Okay, so I'm a little late, but hello, 2010! I have so so many, oh so many goals this year, big and small. I think last year was a sort of gathering year - strength, resolve, information, experience . . . This year I have a clearer idea of what I want to achieve, and really just resolve to move toward doing so. I also would like to learn how to knit a good hat this winter and to plant more zinnias this summer. Continue reading

This blog was started as a way to track my theatrical and musical pursuits, so I hope to write about the processes of whatever projects I'm working on. If you're here for the kid stuff, bear with me. I'm working now on a local production of Falsettos. Rehearsals have just started for this show, which will go up in February at The Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck, NY. Although one of my goals is to continue working toward my Equity card, the schedule of a community theater production works well for me right now. This particular cast is really... Continue reading
