Came across this inspiring quote the other day. Goes to show that how you see yourself means so much more than how others see (or define) you... The dandelion does not stop growing because it is told it is a weed. The dandelion does not care what others see. It... Continue reading

Over on Instagram, aceoftarot is giving away lovely goodies to celebrate Summer Solstice right here. All you need to do is post an emoji, or memory, related to summertime. Last day to enter is June 15th, 2019. Yep...I made that Sun bracelet! I have a few others (all different) in... Continue reading

What does it feel like to be an actual goddess? Especially one that has been ordered by Zeus to get a human job so as to become "more relevant" to mortals? I'm not 100% certain, but I'm getting a taste by playing the role of Chloris, Goddess of Flowers and... Continue reading

I bought the most amazing flower-centric book last week. Published by DK (those awesome purveyors of eye-popping, educational books)--in conjunction with the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew--Flora: Inside the Secret World of Plants is brimming with colorful images of flowers and plants--as well as tons of information relating to botanical science.... Humans have been using the power of scent for over 6,000 years. Modern aromatherapy uses the powerful properties of essential oils to balance and enhance mood. How does it work? Our sense of smell is 10,000 times more sensitive than the other four senses. The invisible world of scent powerfully... Continue reading

What are flower essences? Click here for my introductory post. Eventually, Dr. Bach developed a Flower Essence combination called Rescue Remedy. It is effective in virtually any situation that causes stress or anxiety. If you take it before an event that you think will be stressful, Rescue Remedy will help... Continue reading

Roman Mural in Pompeii Hello...and welcome. I adore flowers. Smitten with their beauty, mythology, smell and healing properties, I also use flowers as part of my spiritual path (I've not been vocal/public about this...until now). This blog is dedicated exclusively to flowers, and includes my personal photography, original poems, magical... Continue reading

So I bought a few Harley Quinn charms last year but didn't do anything with them...until now. Behold! My Harley Quinn bracelet: I love plants and trees and the color green, so I thought I'd make some Poison Ivy bracelets--and a (mis)matching set of earrings, too. Ron said "Oh. It's... I think those of us raised in the 70s and before are flabbergasted at not only the ubiquitous "face in the phone" syndrome--but also, the lack of basic knowledge and life skills among Millenials. (I agree. I think most people under 30 would be up Shit Creek if there were an electronics blackout!) And then there's those measuring self-worth via "likes", retweets, "hearts" or "favorites"... (Ron told me I need to see "Nosedive" as a part of the Black Mirror series on Netflix). In my AMZN cart, I have a book called The Shallows: What the Internet is doing to our brains. It looks great! I started reading Reader, Come Home--but it's really boring. Maybe I'll give it another try. In any event. I can really FEEL the freed-up energy by keeping my focus on this blog and our Etsy store! I wish I would have done it sooner it was a long time coming. :o) Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! -- Janet

For the last month or so, I've been on a serious Genesis kick. They're often playing on our Smart TV or via one of our Amazon Echos or Dots. "Man on the Corner" by Genesis has been one of my absolutely favorite songs for over 30 years (!). It's one... Continue reading

Keep Going: 10 Ways to Stay Creative in Good Times and Bad, Austin Kleon's newest book, arrived yesterday. As with his first book, Steal Like an Artist, it's fab. I'm only on the third chapter, but it's already a balm for the soul and a boost to the creative mind.... Continue reading

On Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, the groundbreaking, first-ever photograph of a black hole was published around the world. Captivating viewers and providing the only direct visual evidence that these regions exist, this Black Hole was officially named Powehi, a Hawaiian phrase that means "embellished dark source of unending creation." (The... Continue reading

“Life purpose is a choice rather than an experience. It’s something we decide about life.” – Dr. Eric Maisel Just coming off the Christmas/Yule holiday, many have watched the perennial favorite It’s a Wonderful Life. (Were you among them? I admit I’ve never watched it all the way through. I... Continue reading

Image seems cool to have a self-published deck come out that features celebrities--our favorite actors, singers, artists or musicians. Or even characters from a comic book series, novel, video game or movie. Noticed I said self-published. That's because traditional publishers aren't stupid enough to violate a famous person's Right of... Continue reading

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I have the Book of Poisons from that series, but not yours. Must remedy that! 😉
Last night, I had to get a broken tooth repaired. The numbing shot was the worst, as it usually is (unless you're getting a root canal...). I sat in the seat for 20-25 minutes, waiting for my mouth to go numb so my awesome dentist could do his thing. I... Continue reading
