getting back to it...
i have been away for a long time but even before that i had lost the original purpose of this blog. as a family we are trying hard to reduce our footprint. often times i am asked how i do this. i chose to start this blog to share some of the tricks that i have learned and share the journey of so much more that i plan to learn. we have been more focused lately on reducing and i am trying to get back to finding more ways to re-purpose and recycle. so much has changed this year in... Joy!!! Whatever you do is fabulous! You inspire me. Feel so blessed I have found you. Love the loss of limitation. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!!!!
I love quilting. I will always love quilting. I will always quilt. It brought me out of a darkness. It gave me a new language of skills. I can actually write and think in pattern speak. I love design. I'm a pretty good designer, and designing quilts is fun, and interesting, and challenging, and ...
Amazing...love the spikey tree, The moss? on the branch, the lacey leaf on the stone, the (un)expected heart in the spider web ( they really do follow you, the sweet little frog (how big was he?) I could have something to say about all of them but I muse return to slumber I hope! Sweet dreams. Thank you for sharing.
A thousand words::
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I've tried for a week to put my adventure in the Ecuadorian rain forest into words and found I have...none. None that express how I feel and what it has changed in me. So, in lieu of words I give you pictures. Lots of them. In terms of w...

That stack there is so amazingly scrumptious!!!
Working on the colonial "pilgrim dress". Wishing I had enough time/forethought to have ordered enough Hello Pilgrim to make this dress. Next one will most definitely be...still choosing which fabric. Still really want to make that hegdehog dress like your's! Off to find joy!
what will she say next?
When I was at the farm, Susan made the comment that, "we have no idea what you are going to say next". This is about how four minutes out of me sounded: I love all of you so much I haven't listened to the Talking Heads all week Do you know where my phone is? What's your favorite color? You abso...
Love it...it really suits you! We fell in love with the two new lines of fabric, we found them last night! Happy creative thursday.
we're live! I finally have a new website!!
Creative Thursday has had the same website since 2005. A template site, I put together myself. It served it's purpose and did a great job of getting me started. And then I outgrew it, at least five years ago now. It was high time for a new one. You know how it goes. There's always someth...
Understanding overwhelming in all directions. Trying to remain focused to joy. More sleep might help. I know getting back on the bike will too.
~sunshine & happiness
A quick thought.
I've been feeling overwhelmed. I have a lot going on, and it feels like I'm going it alone, and I just don't want to do that anymore. I took a bike ride, the first late night bike ride of my late night bike riding season, and I don't know what it is, maybe it's the fact that I am exercising, or ...
So perfect. Very exciting that more people will have the opportunity to experience your fabulousness! Congratulations.

sweet dreams & moonbeams.
I'm building you a rainbow.
I have always known that color was important to me, but it wasn't until relatively recently that I realized that it was such a sticking point about my work... not to me, because it always has been, but to other people. I've had several conversations with random guys who don't say anything abou...

SoulePapa Blogs :: My Mom
As I search through my earliest of memories she is there. I feel her presence and I am comforted by words she may have said, long ago, to a little boy that needed to hear them. Words that she has probably forgotten, through the long battle that is raising children, but I have held them close t...

blissed out
In between eating dinner outside and crawling into bed with windows open, lies a magical summery window of time. As much as we can, this is how we've been spending it. Oh sweet, sweet Summer. I love you.
Happy Tuesday friend. Wish I was going to see you again in June at SQUAM. We are going to have to figure something out. Any how. Happy spring day to you.
Good friends::

Portland I love thee.
I get off the plane and remember how men find me attractive here. That's a good start. I checked into my hotel and was thrilled by the details. I went on a quick walk to Powell's and found my Mom's book. My Mom's book is in my second favorite bookstore in the entire world. I was gratified I went...

thank you for sharing. your images are amazing...i especially love the one of the dance floor, so warm.
my grandfather had a beautiful old "system" too. He collected so many records and every time he chose a new one to share with us he would walk down the hall from the living room to his bedroom closet bring the record back to the living room, remove it ever to gently from the sleeve, dust it carefully with his special roll shaped record dusting tool and every so gracefully place it on the player and bring the joy to all of us to share.
i love to take these walks through the past. thank you. have a beautiful day.
SoulePapa Blogs :: Spinning Stories
Carefully, I place the record onto the stem. Swinging the plastic arm into place above the turntable, it holds the vinyl steady and flat. I click the switch into auto and wait. Nothing. Hoping now, I click again. This time I am rewarded with a refreshing slap as the album is released and th...
