Tender Words to the Tired Heart by Max Lucado Brook Besor. Don't feel bad if you've never heard of the place. Most haven't, but more need to. The Brook Besor narrative deserves shelf space in the library of the worn-out. It speaks tender words to the tired heart. The story emerges from the ruins of Ziklag. David and his six hundred soldiers return from the Philistine war front to find utter devastation. A raiding band of Amalekites had swept down on the village, looted it, and taken the women and children hostage. The sorrow of the men mutates into anger,... Continue reading

The subject of gentleness is something that is a favorite of mine. When you try to live your life God's way - sometimes people think they can take advantage of the purpose your trying to accomplish. I've heard it said that Christians are wimpy. Perhaps some are. But I think it's much easier to yell at someone or punch them in the nose versus holding your tongue and trying to love someone. I once heard a definition for meekness as "strength under control" - I love that. Meek isn't mousy and it isn't cowering. It's being willing to not constantly... Continue reading

I stronglysuggest if you are drinking something...stop. If you have any injuries that laughing will exacerbate...wait until you heal. If you have a full bladder... maybe make a quick pit stop before watching this video. But if you are by any means having a bad day or just need a good long belly laugh. Proceed. Continue reading

One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 15:23. It talks about what a wonderful thing it is when a word is given in the right season. I always hope when I say something that my words are timely. That I'll show someone love at a time when they really needed it, or told a joke on a day someone really needed to laugh. I know I appreciate a timely word when it comes my way. The last few ...well forever it seems, I've been having car trouble. With a car that is 20 years old - that isn't an entirely... Continue reading

LOL *hugs* I like my science John flavore. I welcome it!
All over the country and possibly the world, young girls are eagerly awaiting with barely contained excitement for March 20th to finally dawn. They have handmade signs depicting their adoration, they have made snacks and giggle to each other as they vigilantly watch the countdown to the hour. Why? Because that is the day I turn 31? No. Ohhhhh no. Because New Moon comes out on DVD at 12:01am on March 20th, 2010. *narrows eyes* Way to steal my thunder, Twilight franchise. Continue reading

Ok it's stories like this that make me want to adopt. Not that I ever plan on giving birth to a 23lb lamb - but...I am actively searching out the Mama Lamb's mailing address so I can send her some kind of basket loaded with Ibprofen and heating pads... Aside: How thrilled does the baby lamb look. "Hey! Lookitmee!! I'm ginormous!!!" ====================================================== As woolly lambs go, she's something of a mammoth. So pity poor old mum when Sally arrived in the world. Weighing a massive 23lb - three times the size of a normal lamb - the youngster doesn't so... Continue reading

I came across the below article and was nodding in agreement even before I read the entire piece. So few people are content these days and it's because their focus is always on what they DON'T have, rather than what they DO! People wish for a spouse and children and then when they get them all they want is some peace and quiet. We HAVE to have the best computer or phone or blackberry but when the newer shiner thing comes along suddenly we have disdain for that which we so deperately wanted. It's amazing how the simple act of... Continue reading

If you'd never been to the cleverus maximus of HowItShouldHaveEnded.com - you need to run not walk there now. I was first introduced to it when they featured Superman, pointing out hilarious movie reenactments and changing the course of the plot in knee-slappingly awesome new directions. Today someone sent me the HISHE video for 'Twilight' and soda came out my nose. And I wans't even drinking soda. Ok that may be a problem ...you know...medically. Anyway! Feast your eyes! The world is a hilarious place. Joy can be found in the most unlikely of places. All you have to do is look for it. One such oppurtunity is; the photo bomb. Chances are we have all been involved in one, be it intentionally or not, we have all been the bomber or the bombee. What is a photo bomb you ask? Let's ask UrbanDictionary.com. They always know... Photo Bombing: The fine art of ruining other people's photos. Usually by running in the background or making a silly face in the background. Stealing the focus from an otherwise normal picture... I am beginning to think the people behind Facebook have employed a ninja spy to stalk me in my every day life. I don't spend THAT much time on Facebook and yet it seems to be very current about the things in my life that I haven't even mentioned. Perhaps I should be flattered that Facebook takes that much time to look into my life. I mean never click on their ads, partially due tot he creepy accuracy with which they follow my activities. I decided to start eating healthier. I didn't even use the word diet - and I... Continue reading

One of the best things about having a blog is you don't really nee a direction in order to have something fun to read. But so many blogs have a 'hook' a concept that they stick to and that supplies just a bit of framework to the whole process. Me. I'm a bit frameless. Maybe that's my frame. I could go with the haughty attitude that I 'can't be contained', when perhaps that's not entirely true. There is probably a label with my name on it out there somewhere. Weird, Wacky...Violently Optimistic....Unique....I'm unique, just like everyone else haha! Anyway. Not... Continue reading

There are some things in life that will enrich you as a human being simply for having watched them happen. Below you will find such a moment. Sit back and relax as Broadway's Brian D'Arcy James removes the agony and stress of the most annoying and mundane things that plague our lives. As a member of the call center community... there is a particular moment that makes my eyelashes wiggle with glee. And don't forget to oogle his magnificent eyebrows. Brian D'arcy James Can Sing Anything http://briandjames.freakymartian.com Continue reading

Ok let me start by saying I literally can't stand Donald Trump. I turn the channel when his face is on my screen, I mute for good measure just to not hear him speak. His hair confounds me, his whole demeanor makes my skin crawl. That said. I AM SO WATCHING CELEBRITY APPRENTICE THIS YEAR!!!!! What is going to make it worth my having to fast forward and mute my way through every episode you ask? Let me show you... The cast for the March 2010 "Celebrity Apprentice" is as follows: Cyndi Lauper, Sharon Osbourne, Bret Michaels, Curtis Stone, Rod... Continue reading

It's funny at the beginning of such a venture as this, one finds the temptation to either be hyper personal or as stiff armed as possible, filling every entry with snark that has little or no reflection of the person writing it. I'm going to walk that line with foolish daring I believe. There seems to be a reoccuring theme as of late. Friends trying to get me into various outlets of entertainment. Farmville being among them. I know that I have a tendency toward the addictive. I echo the Backstreet Boys with my All or Nothing At All mentality... Continue reading

Ooooh a blog that dares scale the wall of my workplace's proxy? I am intrigued and cautious at this new possible outlet for my emotions. This little blank box that waits to record my every thought and feeling! Will you succumb, little box, to the overwhelming force of the work firewall? I hope not. We could get in such mischief together. And by mischief... I mean none at all. Oh little box I can't lie to you. Hidden behind this flowery snark beats the heart of a goody two shoes trying to make it in a world that wants to... Continue reading
