Awesome numbers! I attended Dan's session which gave a bit of insight on some of the hardware backing the lab infrastructure, but to see these kind of numbers is very cool! I also want to echo Jason's comment here and thank EMC as well as all of the other vendors and VMware for the lab setup this year, it rocked! So once VMworld Copenhagen is over, does this gear find its way into your personal lab? :) It'd make a nice addition!
Incredible. If I was forced to use one word to describe the labs here at VMworld, incredible would be the one. The moment you walk inside of the huge area at Moscone West, all you can view is a sea of monitors and thin clients, with a giant scoreboard hanging... Continue reading

Well, I made it to SF in one piece, despite screaming children the whole way there! Ironically, before I saw a VMware ad, I saw one from Citrix while on the way to the hotel! I feel at home now surrounded by VMware everything! VMworld 2010 is huge! Tons of... Continue reading

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over! However, the end of summer does mean that VMworld is coming up in a few weeks and I'm very excited! There are a ton of great sessions this year and I'm looking forward to a lot of the networking and... Continue reading

So ever since I upgraded my aging Macbook Pro to Snow Leopard about a year ago, my XP VM that I run under VMWare Fusion hasn't worked. The performance has been so bad it literally tanks my entire machine and freezes during boot. I haven't spent a lot of time... Continue reading

So as part of some upcoming changes, I'll be in charge of a network redesign. We're going from a flat, single-site network to a dual-site, VLAN'ed/classless design. I'm pretty excited as this will be the first type of project like this that I am in charge of. I'll be overseeing... Continue reading

The management agent on one of my ESXi 3.5 boxes froze up tonight, couldn't connect via the VI client or restart the management agent via the console GUI. Thankfully SSH still worked so I was able to restart it that way, but I'm posting this command up here for reference... Continue reading

Welcome to the Router Crossing blog. I've been wanting a place to put down some thoughts and experiences on virtualization, networking, and other enterprise technologies and here's where we start. Hopefully I can provide some perspectives from an insider's point of view and also get those from others who live... Continue reading
