This week a few pushes of the site gets us to our second milestone we set out for ourselves. There are some odds and ends that need polishing, but this is a nice point to stop and talk about where we are and where we're going. First off all, traffic...

![Anne Joan](http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5219/5383907485_137289d7f1_b.jpg) Anne Joan Grayson was born this morning at around 1:30. Both she and Tabitha are doing fine. I'm pretty sure they said she weighed in at 8 lbs, 15 ounces and is 22 inches long. She is also...

The Facts Fabric: Vintage rayon from Vintage Fashion Expo - ~$20 Pattern: McCall 6816 from Etsy - ~$9 Year: c. 1947 Notions: Vintage zipper -- ~$.005 Time to complete: 6 hours First worn: January 2011 Wear again? Once I find a bra that works. Total Cost: ~$30 Despite the fact that I'm not a professional model (no, really??), I've tried to channel all that I've learned on America's Top Model. While I'm incapable of smizing, I know how to think funny, happy thoughts. However, that laugh above is 100% natural. To find out what I was laughing at, read to...

When Penelope saw me working on my Yellow Rose of Texas dress she naturally assumed that anything made with yellow fabric would become a Belle dress for her. She does get points for being observant. Once I had finished my dress, I used the leftover fabric and the pattern that I used for her Rapunzel dress to make her own Belle ballgown dress. It was quick and dirty -- I didn't line it and the rose is a bit anemic. But it's a play dress and sufficient enough for dancing around to Be Our Guest.

We gave up fighting our daughter over the whole Disney Princess thing and instead embraced the princesses that we felt have the most admirable traits1 -- Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel from Tangled. I actually quite liked Tangled (the song Mother Knows Best is totally Kander & Ebb for kids) and Pen saw it twice in the theater. It was only a matter of time before I made Penelope her own princess dress and, as I predicted when I recently lamented the quality of official princess dresses from Disney, would incorporate brocade -- actually leftover brocade from...

After 52 weeks of sewing, I'm allowing myself to be lazy and break with the format of The Weekly Creation. So no special photo of the dress on the dress form. Instead, here's a photograph from our own holiday party. The dress turned out okay, although it was a bit tight. I also hand-beaded some details at the neckline but didn't take a photo of that. (I told you I'm being lazy!) I do have to say that part of the reason I'm being lazy is because I've been spending the past week redesigning The Sew Weekly for 2011 and...
