I have had a very hard time letting go of summer. All September, I kept pretending it was still August, even as we restarted our early childhood program and the school was full of people. I watched my tomatoes ripen... Continue reading

As in 'olive drab', or army-blanket green... actually, I think of this color with the same feeling of love and goodwill that I approach diving into a bowl of olives... I love it! Long-time followers will already know that green,... Continue reading

HI Sallee -- Well, thanks for still following me! Do you need to be concerned about this upcoming hurricane? I would think an earthquake is enough for one week, but we are hearing quite a bit about it over on the left coast and it got me to thinking about my friends over on your side. hugs, Birdsong

Does that sound incongruous? Maybe if you are a heavy-duty Christmas gift knitter; November and December would be the months when you featured posts heavy with gift knitting. Personally, I have sworn off the stress of knitting every single gift... Continue reading

I spent an hour on Wednesday afternoon going through all the posts, re-posts, FB mentions and likes to Nature's Cauldron's Facebook page. Whew, thank goddess I don't do Twitter! I then carefully numbered everything and turned to a little random... Continue reading

Drawstring Toes Kathy B. asked me about the drawstring toes employed in my recent Garter Rib socks; I had credited Sharon, but then she commented saying the credit should go to Diane Soucy. I tend to be of the belief... Continue reading

It has been a long, hard winter and spring is barely showing its face here. Today's weather is windy and cool, the soil drying out a bit and yet too cold to make the roots of most plants very happy.... Continue reading

I love the high country! I spent 13 years of my life living full-time above the snow line in the Sierras, and never tire of the mountains. I do have to admit that this year's record-breaking snows in our region... Continue reading

Sallee, it is people in fixed circumstances like apartment complexes that I feel for the most! Of course you cant make many needed changes! I hope you have a good support system in your community. If your nonprofit hasnt been working on emerg prep maybe you can influence them to start, for the clients sake and yours!
