Actual I think a prequel is a pretty good idea and has a lot more scope then what happens after the current movie. After all Jake has already won the heart of Netiri and another conflict with the humans would just be repeating the same story line. So interesting too that you get to see what jakes twin brother was like.
AVATAR Prequel Coming Soon
The AVATAR script reveals some background about the AVATAR world including sex, drugs and suicide. But lots happens before the movie's events take place and producer Jon Landau says James Cameron wants to write a prequel novel: "Sigourney teaching at the schoolhouse. Jake on Earth, and his bac...
It's my number one movie. I am a bit of a film buff and normally go to the small independent or Foreign films rather then blockbusters. No other movie as affected me as this one has, and although I have seen a few other films twice, I have seen Avatar 6 times soon to be 7 as I have promised to go with my Mum. I have never done so much internet searching on a film before either.
I have tried to analyze what it is about this film that has captured me so much. I guess it is the combination of the love story, being connected to the environment and socially responsible. Also the amazing graphics and attention to detail. I have noticing something different on each view. The emotion depth that can be read in both the eyes and tiny facial gestures that this new technology has captured.
A total escapism and the idea, of the chance to start again in a new body. Anyone who has lived with illness can appreciate that. The 3D that seems more natural and not gimmicky. The fact the avatars and Navi look dam sexy - Jake in my case, wearing next to nothing with their elongated toned bodies I am sure is a big pulling card. I haven't dreamt I am in Pandora yet but here hoping.

I am thrilled. I knew it would, but it so very cool that it has done it so quickly. No other movie has ever inspired me to ever go and see it more then twice. Even twice is very rare for me to see a movie and I have seen Avatar 6 times and counting.
AVATAR: Biggest Movie of All Time
It's official: Avatar is now the highest-grossing movie of all time in dollar sales, breaking Titanic's previous record of $1.843 billion on Monday. It's gotten a big boost from more expensive 3-D screenings and is still going strong, leading industry observers to say $2 billion or more is pos...

Leila Thomas's blog
Leila Thomas's blog I saw an article in the paper (NZ Herald) today criticizing Avatar. It the first time I have felt like writing in suggesting the reporter get all his facts straight before pulling something to pieces. He said that the first time the bulldozers come in they were felling the trees of Souls and that it was implausible that the Na'vi could move on from that so quickly. (I must admit i was a little confused the first time I saw the film) Having seen it more then once I know the first lot of trees do not... Continue reading
