"I'm sorry, did you say I could make my own concrete countertop??" Yes I did! In gathering our ideas for the new studio space, we realized that we would finally have a chance to try our own concrete countertop DIY. We loved reading about this DIY countertop last year and were so impressed that we wanted to try it ourselves. Here's what we did: Supplies: Ardex Feather Finish (we used... Continue »

We're traveling today (and missing the Super Bowl) but if I was home hosting a party I'd make these for sure. 5. A great solution for creating a gallery wall around a television (I need this!) 6. I use vanilla extract nearly every day when baking. It's as common in recipes as flour and sugar. In the past two years, I've started experimenting with other, gourmet vanilla extracts now and again. And I thought it would be fun to make my own—so I gave it a try! (A few treats made with vanilla extract from our archives.) I read this tutorial from Ina Garten and decided that... Continue »

There is a romance between your heart and hand when you take the time to create, compose, design a fabulous letter to a friend, loved one or associate. The best letter you can possibly write is a sincere thank you card like these from PEAR GREETINGS Most cards these days are written for you, especially the wonderful cards from HALLMARK, who also offer on-line card greetings. Just in case you have no idea what to write. Or you can find your words in books like The Thank You Book, Say It With Style, Finding The Right Words, and The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card: Prose-sentiments-poems-expressions . Two of my favorite books are Gift of A Letter and How To Say It. Once you have written your card or letter, do not forget to place a beautiful stamp on the outside of your envelope. The U.S. Post Office has wonderful stamps available for purchase. Sincerity in the simple Thank You card is essential to healthy bonds in all relationships throughout life. Take the time to send a card or write a letter. You will enjoy incorporating this task into your life. The receiver of your "heart to hand" note will delight in the written gift you have given them.
