Moving on
Moving my blog that is. Much as I've enjoyed using Typepad, I don't think I use it enough for what I pay for it, so I'm off to a free blog instead. I'm losing quite a few things that I... Continue reading

Books read in September
Apart from one book, which was a re-read, all of the nineteen books that I've read this month were either from the library or on my Kindle. I haven't made a single dent in Mt. TBR. Oh dear. It's getting... Continue reading

That's a very clever beehive and I love the cat block :)
Some Kind of Wonderful progress...
Last week I spent the most time working on my monthly cottages project Finished this one... and made a start on the next one. I did get the chance to finish off a couple more blocks for the SKOW quilt. The kitty cat... I enjoyed stitching this and it turned out to be quite easy to needle...
July is looking lovely. I enjoyed stitching those little strawberries too.
I don't envy you those wee blossoms but I know you'll make short work of them once you get started :)
A few strawberries and a tiny blossom
So - I promised myself to start back working on the SKOW quilt once the June/July cottage was finished. Then I thought that I would just make a little start on the July/June cottage as I had all of the stuff to hand and I had tidied the applique away and I could get that out the next day. Well, ...

That's worked out brilliantly Tree. I love all of your changes. It looks great :)
CCN July Cottage redesigned!
When I saw that the July cottage had a red white and blue theme I decided that I would do a bit of changing around on it and use it in my June spot to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. So - this is actually the July cottage, renamed as June and with a few changes to it. So - the changes ...
They are lovely. I actually like the Windmill one best, closely followed by the butterfly. You're going great guns on this one!
Some Kind of Wonderful - BOM Rehab
I spent quite a bit of time working on the blocks for my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt last week and really enjoyed it. I picked blocks at random and managed to finish all of the blocks for the final column. I have 3 more 'on the go' that are almost finished which leaves me just 4 more left to ma...
Oh crikey. That sounds an interesting one.
I don't believe it was so simple
For years my laptop has been driving me insane. It has a couple of little quirks and one of them was so bad that I was on the verge of replacing the laptop even though I can't actually afford to. It was that bad. I do a lot of typing on it. Maybe not a lot compared to some people, but enough so ...

That's it exactly. Frustrating because of the problem, but also because you can't figure it out. Such a relief when you do. Bit of a Doh moment too :)

The Secret London Cross Stitch...
Why secret? well, I have been working on this since July and totally forgot to tell Carole that I'd even bought the chart :o After finishing the owl stitchalong the crop girls decided on this as our next project. It has 6 of the little polaroid pictures in it - one for each month up to December ...
Oh my! That is lovely, isn't it :)
Halloween Mail
Back at the beginning of August, I was reading Polly's blog and she was showing off a lovely Halloween project that she had just completed from a Fons and Porter special edition magazine. I was so taken with it that I ordered up the magazine. Then I was so taken with the stand that the project i...

It's beautiful Tree. I've loved watching this one appear, block by block :)
Henrietta Whiskers finished...
Poor Henrietta Whiskers has been languishing in my sewing basket for quite a lot of months now. I was inspired to get her finished by Sinta's BOM rehab and so once Catherine's new school bag was completed I dug her out and set about putting the finishing touches on her. This is how she looked b...

Wow! The Library and The Owls both look wonderful now that they're finished and framed. You really are on a roll with finishes at the moment :)
Love that bag too!
Summer Stitching
I didn't get around to blogging during the summer so this is going to be a bit of a catch up post. My intention was to get up to date with the cottage stitching but...that didn't happen. Instead, I was overwhelmed with a desire to finish off the stitching of The Library by Little House Needlew...
Thank you :)
And the way I see it is that a spend for a new project is a reward for finishing an old one. I shall look forward to seeing your start on this one :)

So, apparently I had a corrupted MediaDatabase.db3 file. Of course I did. No idea what one of those is, but thanks to Google (and several interesting Forum conversations that led me to the correct solution on the Adobe website), I'm up and running again. Which means that now I have a much bette...
I had to use Picasa before on holiday once. I liked it much better than the Windows thing but it was hard to get used to after Elements.
Always good as a backup though so thanks for reminding me about it :)
Too fond of books update #1
I haven't done much stitching lately due to my painful thumb making it hard to hold the needle but I have made a bit of progress on this and have a little row of books appearing. It was touch and go whether I managed to upload a photo or not. The laptop is playing up again. Two weeks ago it r...

Books read in August
18 books read this month including the new Lee Child which I loved, a book of short travel stories which were hilarious, a Jeeves and Wooster which made me giggle and one by Hemingway which made me sad. Quite a mixed bag and most of them were enjoyable, some of them were very much so. Nice gir...
