The Duck Pond
Every day I walk past my friend Hayley's home and look at her duck pond. It has a Crepe Myrtle beside it, which makes for wonderful reflections. I think this would make a great fabric design. And she has a... Continue reading

The Laidley Show
One thing I did do last week was go to the Laidley Spring Festival. I looked at the quilts which were many, all hanging in the Lutheran Church which had an old tractor display out the front. All this area was settled by German people who were fleeing persecution back in the 1800's, so t...
WIPW
I am off today for a birthday party in Toowoomba and then to overnight with my daughter. This is going to put a big hole in my stitching time. I have decided to do a stock-take of my fabrics. They... Continue reading

Thank you.
A break!
It has been a week to forget and this coming week is looking just as bad! Just too much to do, to little time and my mind is not working properly. It started with a bad reaction to medication and went downhill from there, plus I was trying to fulfill commitments whilst I was ill and couldn't t...

I find her you tube videos very relaxing and sometimes I pick up some good ideas.
Wasting time
I spent the afternoon watching the August edition of the Last Homely House. I gave myself a subscription to this show and you know it was a good investment. I slow down and watch someone else's everyday life and switch off from my own concerns. What have I got to be concerned about? Well...
Yes, I will be interested to see it when it’s finished and quilted.
Update on some old work
You might remember some applique blocks I was finishing off for my friends in Toowoomba? Well they have them all 'shashed up' and ready to decide the next step. It is looking good.

This class was advertised today, it filled in 5 mins.
Lots of distractions
I haven't been sewing at all much. I did spray up that quilt, which I hope to start today, but soooo many other things have got in the way. Firstly, I have had constant requests to teach again. I did a couple of workshops for my local groups and love doing them BUT my health is not what it w...

Sometimes you miss what is right under your nose!
The week of running around
Sometimes I find I just can't manage all the loose ends. This week has been like that, so I decided to sit down at my sewing machine and stitch, a bit, read, a bit and then take a walk. It was at the walk bit that I noticed that Spring has sprung! It has been so cold up till this week and sp...
When I planted these I had no idea that they would multiply this way. They are becoming a tourist attraction!
More about Spring
Once I realised it was Spring I went looking for the Feesia plants that I planted 30 years ago. My nose told me where they were. Originally they were just planted on the path down to the beach. This was a candidate for erosion and is why they were planted here. It helped slow the eros...
Oh yes, my wrist agrees.
C.Q. 4
I had intended to outline quilt the characters in this panel but it just made my wrist too sore. I decided to stop at the fox and machine quilt the surrounds of the main panel. The panel was given to my by another member of my Monday quilting group. Still I'm sure it will find a good home....
But I am mangling the size and learning new skills.

Yes, It really is a sign of spring.

I only realised that IT IS early spring here.
Winter on the island
Being an island the direction of the wind dictates if you are cold or warm. On this island at this time of year the winds blow in from the South, off the snow fields and sometimes all the way from Antarctica. I have a wonderful view facing south down the bay but it can get very cold, so I 'rug...
Yes, you never can tell.
Xmas Toys - 2
This little bear is again, very cute, the pattern is from Whip-Stitch. Again, I have made various changes to the original pattern, I wasn't happy with the join of the head to the body, it just didn't look right. I found this doll face in an OP shop for 50c and have been waiting for years for ...
I may have solved this one but this computer thing goes on and on.
I"ve done it!! (I hope)
I now have all of my Apple products talking to each other. Thank goodness, and I do have quite a few, 8 at last count. It has taken me nearly 8 months to get this done and at times I was just tearing my hair out. Living in paradise does have it's draw backs when it comes to technology. There...
