I think I have been sold a furphy?
Whilst rolling up all the wool I started to think about the process I was going through. It was very labour intensive and I had been told time is money. In fact that was one of the criteria that I used with students when they were reflecting on their garment construction. But that is only par...

So are lots of other people.
I'm not sure why
I'm not sure why but I am having trouble committing to my stitching projects. After a meeting with my patchwork group I find that nearly everyone feels the same. Maybe it is our age? But there are a lot of younger members in the group and they are feeling the same. I think that 2020 with all...

I’m afraid I still have to push myself a bit.
WIPW
Bits and pieces this week. I am now knitting a new hat, and the wool is a pleasure to work with. I do need to buy some shorter connectors for my in the round needles. (What a good excuse to go to the yarn shop?) My foundation quilted blocks are growing like topsy. The hexigons have slowed...

I agree. This will now be part of my process.
Grandma was right.
I have started some more knitting using that recycled wool that is all krinkled, I got as far as finishing the basque around the base. But, it just doesn't knit well, the guage of the knitting makes we feel so uncomfortable. But also, I don't want to waste that yarn as pure wool is so expensive...
I am so glad to hear that it isnt just me that feels like this. I have been so tempted to make that undercover mat but I have a flat bed sewing table so I cant use it, darn.

Another one to add to the job list.
WIPW
Not a lot of finished work this week. Actually not a lot of work. But I am up to making my book cover from my Ecco Dyeing. I hem stitched the edges of the wool so that I could use the whole piece. Time consuming but it did the job. I highlighted the design with seed stitch around the e...
I have so much unfinished work but it is a thought.

I agree. I think of all those others in the world that have all kinds of problems and know I am blessed.
Sunsets
The weather here has been hot and steamy with huge storms that roll down in the after noon. This makes for some spectacular sun sets. We had been to the mainland for dinner and the skys were amazing coming home. I say skys because one can see in 360 degrees and the vista changes as one spins...
I catch myself looking at things around me I find I have my mouth open. Maybe the lockdowns etc have made me appreciate what is in front of me.

RIP old camera
It only seems like yesterday that I bought this camera but looking at my records it was 2005. It has been around the world several times. Up mountains, into the desert, been repaired twice and now it is dead. They don't make spare parts for it anymore. So, I HAVE TO buy a new camera. I h...

Making Pom Poms
Because I am now an old woman, I had over looked pom pom makers and always cut my two rounds of cardboard to make my pom poms. But whilst in Lincraft the other day I found a pile of pom pom makers for sale. Very cheap and I thought "these look flimsey" but I bought a packet anyway. There were...
