I totally disagree with this post. What you have to take into consideration is the industry, first and foremost. Artists for example are, indeed, better off with one post a day. However, when we talk about journalists, for example, updates can be quite frequent. I know big brands that share several updates during the day, and that do a great job at keeping their audiences engaged and growing. There are other factors to consider as well. For example: timing, level of engagement, self-promotion vs. regular updates, and types of media shared. Audiences may get put off by too many updates. However, most of them cannot see what Fan Pages post, due to Edgerank. You cannot apply one-fit-all advice to social media. You have to take things one business at a time.
