Joel, I really didn't think they were serious. If you notice this article is in the category Humor. The sad part is their disclaimer. It tells you where we are when you have to apologize if you offended anybody for trying to be funny. Everyone needs to learn how to laugh again. Unlike them I am associated with Heaven as I view it as my eternal home.
Natalie, I have some basic questions: 1. Do you believe in absolute truths? If so how do you think they became absolute? If not does that mean there is no truth? 2. As there are scientific laws do you believe there are moral laws? If so where did these laws come from? If not how does one determine if something is moral? 3. How would you explain the existence of evil? I'm assuming you believe that evil exists. Also don't forget science has no way of answering this question. 4. Who do you say God is? Who do you say man is? Dennis

Natalie, As a fellow baby boomer, I'm 61, I can understand what you have gone thru in terms of trying to understand if there is a God. All of us have this innate belief that there has to be more than our time on earth. I believe there is more and I have come to the conclusion that Christianity provides the rational and logical answers to my questions. I too read Dawkins "The God Delusion". I was terribly disappointed in it. I read a lot of well written presidential biographies and have come to expect a book that reasonably lays out the issues and in a logical fashion presents their views. I didn't find any of that in Dawkins book. It came across as ranting and working backwards. There have been a number of reviews, from fellow atheists, saying basically the same thing. I believe Christianity does have the answers to our most pressing questions. Like you I don't believe in a sky god. The God of the Bible isn't that. He is a living involved God who loves us enough that His son died on the cross so we can have everlasting life. I assume you are a reader and I would recommend 2 books: C S Lewis " Mere Christianity" and Chuck Colson's book "The Faith". I would also recommend reading John's gospel in the New Testament. While your atheist friend told you that wanting more to be true doesn't make it so, I would reply that neither does it not make it so. Don't settle for less and pursue God and He will let you find Him.

1 Kings 3:7b-9: But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"

Zoe, one can always hope that Joe will have more to do but 2 reasons why he probably won't: 1. Obama's transition team hasn't said anything about Biden having unprecedented responsibilities, and 2. the only 2 times he has received press was when he got a dog before Obama and he was turned away from a movie theater. Dan you are almost right about Garner's quote. Instead of spit he said another word that begins with a p. Andy you underestimated President Bush.
