A two thousand dollar bike frame! Yikes! Said John Robinson. Peanuts John.
I don't even know where to start Mike. I suppose the first order of business is that it is NEVER too late to take up cycling. Snow and Wisconsin winters, 9 months a year it is zero problem? Besides don't you move the TOP HQ to Florida in the winter? You live in a very active cycling community in southern Wisco. Ever hear or TREK? Waterford built or may still build some of Grant's bikes and is owned by Richard Schwinn. Yes that is in Waterford Wisconsin. Madison, just a short piece to your right is one of the get the picture. The A. Homer is just the ride for you! No need for fancy pants or clothing, just toss on your favorite tweed jacket and head out the door. Some people around here talk of buying and collecting too many cameras, I was one of those people that used to have too many bicycles. I had so many bikes that when I opened my small business back in 2000, I funded the entire start-up with the capital I raised selling my bikes! At the time I had a Volvo that I paid $290 dollars for,and at full retail (I never paid retail) about $30K in bikes and bike related stuff. I once lived in an apartment with two other bike dorks and we had a staggering about of money in bicycles, tools etc in that place. We had over 30 sets of wheels that were not even attached to bikes! I have known Grant a long time, and had a few bikes that had his name all over them from Bridgestone. I never have bought a Rivendell, but I will some day. My guess is that it will be long before I ever buy a Leica. These two passions are very similar and go hand in hand perfectly. It's not how fast or how far you ride, it's how long. Ride forever!
I was going to buy an M9 in order to make me a better looking Street Photographer, but I hate anchovies. Nice one John
I was all set to pre-order both from your Amazon link, but I was abruptly jolted awake from a wonderful nap by the dog licking the drool from my face.

Assuming your designer has an eye towards contemporary ergonomics it sounds perfect. The shutter on this D700 contraption I just got sounds like an industrial riveting machine! I think the tiny rose tattoo above your right buttock is what really makes you a Rock Star. You wear a robe? I figured you always walked around wearing a Misfits biker jacket. Previsualize that!

That is a crazy bunch of flowers. Cool camera though.
Ironically, my (and other people's) forgetfulness could be having quite the opposite effect on your Amazon commissions!? Maybe that is wishful thinking but it has certainly come to the attention of everyone here! BTW Mike, how come you no longer have an Amazon logo as the link?
"Don't swing so damn hard and follow through!" My father and coaches when I was 14 Works for tennis too!

I'm pretty sure the Nikon D700 sells for less than the Alpha 850 is going to sell for. No? I just paid $2300 5 days ago. I could not find it cheaper from a legitimate dealer. Yes Mike, this is where I apologize for spending $2800 on Amazon and forgetting to go through your link. I was just so gobsmacked that my wife suggested I buy it I was temporarily insane! My trusty Oly E300 finally croaked. Next time (like 10 years from now)
Save $ and the World... Look here Mike
Put a full size fridge next to the double cabinet and the opening if it fits. Electric(if needed)is easier to deal with in this situation than H2O for ice. You don't need no stinkin' ice maker! That way you get a 36" base cabinet and counter top next to that range.
Both these cameras appeal. I almost bought a G10 just yesterday but decided to go deep instead! It's only money... Packers should sign Jim Mcmahon. Hell, the Bears should resign him!

"I think it's clear that Olympus needs to hire Shaquille O'Neil as a pitch-man. Or Yao Ming. Somebody who can palm a basketball will show the new Pen off to best advantage, I'm sure. But you've got to like this woman's manner and accent! My film Pen measures 108 wide x 63 tall x 48 deep at the lens. Or, as I prefer to think of it, about 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 2. Makes me feel like Shaq!" Grant Petersen shoots digital? What is this world coming to? You riding plastic bikes these days too? ;-) Nice to see the Bike Curmudgeon reading The Photo Curmudgeon!
