It's ok, I've exported the posts over to the new blog!
Blog move
As both my maternity pay and blogging dwindle, I'm moving to a free platform, you will now find chatiryworld at chatiryworld.wordpress.com. Will keep this one open for a few weeks more though. EDIT: I have downgraded my account to free so this blog will still be available. My new Wordpress one a...

Ha ha!
Long time no blog
I'm impressed with people who keep blogging regularly when they have babies. As you can see, I haven't. My spare time when Bagl sleeps seems to be taken up with housey stuff, bottles and well, just resting a bit (unfortunately not for very long!). Plus spending time with my lovely husband of cou...
Oh yes, I was just reminiscing about the annual 800 metres run at middle school the other day, on the track that was on a slight slope. And it was pre the days when kids were encouraged to drink water at school so we'd all feel a bit yuck! Don't stay up too late!

Bagl Reads: Baby Shapes
Here's the first in what I hope will be a regularish series about what we're reading. Jon bought Baby Shapes 4 Books and Mobile Set a few weeks before Bagl was born. It's one of those high contrast black and white numbers that I used to be unsure about. Why? Well not because I thought they we...

Oh I love them, and I'm in the market for a pair of lightweight trousers for Magnus, not a huge fan of the usual boys clothes to be honest but these are great. Could you please let me know when you have some in your shop? Thank you!
Boys!
(image by Justine Henshaw) One of the things I'm asked for the most is boys clothes. I'm not sure why it's so much harder to design something basic but fun for a boy, but it really is. Shirts? T Shirts? Trousers? They're all pretty much of a muchness when it comes down to it. Especially if y...
Thank you, I can definitely now relate to those words. I think I'd have done anything to make sure he was ok.
5 weeks
5 weeks old and Magnus is growing fast. Here he is wearing one of my favourite outfits, made by a dear friend in Orkney. He is lying on a quilt made by one of my sisters (he has another quilt made by a friend, what a lucky boy). I must try and photograph all his handmade gifts at some point....
Love this! So much nicer than my crappy cheap Ikea footstools. Have decided not to recover them in the nice fabric I bought until Magnus is a bit older as I suspect they may get messy over the next few years!
Bean Busy
One of the new designs that I debuted at BCTF recently, was my beanbag stool. Part of my Circus range, it's the perfect size to be used as a mini seat or as a foot stool. And because it's stuffed pretty full of beans and holds its shape better than a normal beanbag, it's also perfect as a li...

He is here
Magnus David Peter Nagl was born on 31 March 2012 at 0709am after 53 hours of painful early labour, 6 hours with an epidural and then an emergency c-section after he got himself into an odd position. Nothing can prepare you for the first weeks of parenthood and we're all getting used to each o...

32+3
Hello! Anyone still reading? I am now in the third trimester, the joys of heartburn, indigestion and general aches and pains are kicking in, but as you can see, I do now have a bump. Yes, it is quite neat but that's what weeks and weeks of throwing up does to you! We had a growth scan last w...

Thank you Chrisine, I have had the baby and all is well, just haven't got round to blogging about him yet!
Baby's first bookshelf
He may not have multiple changing bags to match all my outfits, an all-singing all-dancing baby gym and entertainment centre, or scratch mitts, but Bagl does have a bookshelf all of his own. We've bought him a couple of board books (The Baby's Catalogue of course) but the rest are from our c...
Thank you! I'm sure we'll be returning to Seven Stories very soon, it will be even better when he's a bit older and fits the dressing up stuff in the attic. I know what you mean about children not always liking the same books as you, I could never understand why my mum wasn't as enthusiastic about Topsy and Tim as I was. But better for them to be reading something I don't like than not at all, is how I look at it.

Lovely photos!
in a language only they can understand
Angry (the not-so-angry chicken), Piper (the friendly cat), and Adelaide (the barnyard peacekeeper).
Oh yes, you should definitely go, it's pretty easy to get to from Aberdeen. Am keeping well thank you!
Symphony of the Magnetic North
Just been alerted to this via Radio Orkney on Facebook, a new album out in April from Erland Cooper of Erland and the Carnival. Entitled Orkney: Symphony of the Magnetic North, it is a series of gorgeous songs about the islands. Hopefully BBC 6 Music will pick this up because it really deserv...

Happy birthday lovely Lily! 4 already?!
4th
Lily turned 4 today. Bella has been shaking her head all day at the idea of having such a big little sister. And I completely agree. It's baffling. The last four years have been so much better for having Lily in them. There have truly been times when sneaking in to her bed for a cuddle has bee...

Latest baby knitting
Here's a Vertebrae cardigan that I started late in December and recently finished (I am also working on a Robe of Glory, thanks to Nancy The List Writer). It doesn't have much of a front so when the baby is in a sling or snuggled on your chest they don't get all hot and bothered. I used the ...
I've just started knitting the back so it feels like it could be a while, have lots of films ordered this week so hopefully will make some progress! That's so lovely that your sister has her own one for her baby.
