(not-so) daily ramblings of Michelle Carrillo, a 30-something woman trying to find balance in her life while juggling a growing photography business, 9-5 job, demanding doxie, and a marriage... and not lose her sanity while doing so.
Interests: photography, playing with my mini-dachshund, list-making (and breaking), going to disneyland, going to the beach, people-watching. trying to fully experience each and every day...finding joy in the seemingly most simple things. Because it's REAL LIFE... it doesn't have to be perfect to be BEAUTIFUL.

yeah, I know the technicalities. But to say that I'm BUYING him makes it sound like he is more of a possession than a pet. I like to think that I'm "adopting" him from his puppy parent (his mom) and his first real home with her, his siblings, and the family that originally cares for him until the time I can take him home.

Hi Jason, Thanks for taking the time to comment... and neat that you found my blog! ; ) I did have a great time at Joe's Crab Shack. It was actually my first time there, and my husband had only been there a few times before. We'd actually really been looking forward to eating there. While we'd wanted to go there for dinner on Saturday, I can't say that either one of us were surprised by the wait time. I would think that would be normal for a Saturday night at prime time, especially since it's such a popular place. But when we went there for lunch on Sunday we were seated right away, which was a treat. The service was wonderful, the ambiance was perfect, and the dancing was definitely entertaining. Topped off with a great dessert, and it made for a wonderful afternoon. Thanks! We'll definitely be heading back soon. -Michelle

Yup, I'm a dork. I noticed that my first posting for this set had the YEAR wrong (said 2008) and then you showed me that yesterday's said it was MAY. Yikes! This photo was taken inside a new restaurant we tried, called the "Veggie Grill." It was soooooo yummy. And it wasn't until looking it up online later that I found out the "chicken" sandwiches we'd had hadn't actually been chicken at all... it was ALL veggie and soy-based.

He hand-draws his pictures first, then scans them into the computer and uses Photoshop to add color and shading. It's awesome to watch him create. I think he's simply amazing!

I'll have to test out the self-portrait thing soon... I have SO few pics of myself, since I'm always the one behind the camera. Tony offered to take some pics of me, so I think I'll take him up on that. : ) for the facebook/typepad thing... I'm trying to remember where I actually went to set it up... whether it was on the facebook site or on the typepad site. but I think you can search the "knowledge base" on typepad for the answer... but I have my blog linked so that every time I post a new entry on typepad, it automatically turns it into a note on my facebook profile, too. pretty sweet. i saw facebook friend of mine who has theirs set up just a bit differently, and i might try and change mine to emulate hers... looks like she posts the first BIT of her blog onto facebook, so that when you click it to read, it takes you to the actual typepad blog itself. that would be a great way to get new traffic to the blog, I would think... hmmm....

Yeah, I've found that if I write about things (particularly diet and exercise) it helps to keep me motivated. And I have my blog set up where it will automatically feed into my facebook account, so I only have to do it once. Sent from my iPhone

awesome project with the kids! I love the fact that the table didn't need to look "perfect", but was their own creation. It makes it that much more special. Some of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE memories of being little were the crafts I used to do with my parents. (And I think that's why I kept going...and eventually got into scrapbooking...) : ) michellesimmons.typepad.com
