From one human-childless woman to another: ahahahahahahahaha! (except about the migraine). Came here from Art of Doing Things, will become a regular.
THANK YOU for taking the time to share this with us. You have a gift for describing a city and its experiences.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring experience. It is so refreshing to hear of humans doing something so gracious and powerful.

Star. Her story was SO easy for me to relate to. I did the same thing, my song was Drip Drip Drop Little April Showers.

I think my favorite meal time is the one I just lived vicariously through you and this post!

Born and raised in small town Wisconsin. After graduating I left to experience big city life, which I loved. Somehow though after 20 years of the big cities, I am back in the same small town in Wisconsin, my true home. Huh.

It is therapeutic to hear you tell this tale of woe. I have a constant inner conflict of longing to hunt for beautiful, old things vs. desiring a home where things don't tip over when I walk through a room due to overcrowding. As a matter of fact I have a "purge" scheduled for this weekend. The advantage of beatiful antique and vintage things is that it is relatively easy to acquire them, admire them for as long as we'd like, then offer them up to the next admirer, and everybody's happy.

Wow. YUM! Fun! Full sentences seem to escape me on this one.

That is a very good question. And trying to answer it may have just given me keen insight into how beaten down I have become. I cannot IMAGINE a year without the great weight of responsibility and limits. (I am currently envious of a friend of mine that took this week off to clean and organize her house!) I think it's time for me to re-prioritize a little, and make some goals - starting with being able to answer that question! Thanks.

Hey, I think I was at the same dance clubs as Rhonda P in Chicago in 1986! I love non-cliche music that is true art with original lyrics, usually alternative in genre. Chicago's WXRT's new music channel on-line offers this type of music up, it is their gift to me every single day. Although ZZ Top's LaGrange is my favorite song of all time. I've asked that it be played at my funeral (hopefully decades from now!). How appropriate - a little ditty about a brothel in Texas to commemorate my passing!

I'd love a conversation with Oscar Wilde - simply for the entertainment value.

Small town Wisconsin, US of A! My family came to the US 375 years ago, from Leeds, England.

Roughing it is a noble quest, but I would vastly prefer your Heidi-cake/glass of wine/bathroom break approach. And the Easy Riders already gave in to the appeal of a hotel room. I don't blame them.

Dear Corey Ferris Amaro: I think you need to enlarge that photo of you running toward the ferris wheel, frame it and hang it on your wall. It is too priceless to not be used as artwork in your home.
