So if CHIRPradio.org ever ran a TV commercial I imagine it would need to look something like THIS! It is perfect! Continue reading

Ok it is time for just a rambling tirade of things that blow my mind..... With that being said does it make any sense at all on God's green earth that anyone should ever live inside a gated community within another gated community??? Huh? I have witnessed this on more than one occasion. My guess is you either have to be a major elitist or just the most paranoid cracker in the world to live within a double gated community. In the immortal words of the 20th century mastermind the late George Carlin - "these people should be locked in... Continue reading

So life at CHIRP has changed my life. I have always felt I have had a great insight on music new and old and then I got involved with the Chicago Independent Radio Project. I am merely a "poser" to claim a word from my high school days. OK that is not entirely true. I still bring something to the table but I will say my exposure to music over the last month has made my head spin. This is what we are all about at CHIRPradio.org. 40 some odd minds bringing their personal approach to the radio each week... Continue reading

Welcome to my new blog! This blog will be in direct conjunction with my work at CHIRPradio.org the Chicago community radio station started by the Chicago Independent Radio Project. I am on the air Wednesday's 9am-12noon. So to start out how about a little background on who and what makes up CHIRPradio.org??? Two and a half years ago some like minded individuals came together with the idea of bringing a truly independent music- and arts-focused community radio station to Chicago. Many of the people involved came together in the ashes of WLUW FM when Loyola University took back control of... Continue reading

Everyone couldn't wait I know....to hear my thoughts. First item up for discussion..... There is no such thing as a free lunch- right? At least that is what we were all taught in Economics 101 back in high school. So something that really gets under my skin....why does the NFL, MLB and tons of others - i'm sure - spend money on pink towels, wristbands, water bottles all to raise awareness for cancer. Listen, I know the NFl and MLB are NOT themselves paying for these items, but Bank of America and Gatorade and countless other sponsors are. Is there... Continue reading
