I saw Phil Keating at the Publix nearest the Casey Anthony crime scene. He's about five feet even. He's like a walking talking Ken doll. Cute as a button he is. Stupid as a rock, sure. I've come to realize the Left will back Islam right up to the point each one of them individually faces sharia punishment for their various 'offenses'. Like the Communists in Iran who didn't see any problems with the Islamic revolution until they were blindfolded and against the wall. We're the new Aztecs to the Islamic Spaniards. We have a cultural weakness which is just too easy for them to exploit. A dominant monoculture need only present itself as the victim and the multiculturalists will allow the allegedly oppressed group to rewrite our laws from top to bottom.
I still can't believe the major news organizations focus on honor killing when the real problem in Rifqa's case is apostasy. Apostasy is punishable as an actual crime throughout the Muslim world (or as we know it "Earth"). Legal note: Emancipation (or becoming an adult) happens by law, automatically, for everyone at age 18. BUT, there is emancipation of minor by cause of action, removal of "nonage" status, with a court order on a case-by-case basis. The Florida statute is 743.015. Two problems: 1) Rifqa lived in Ohio (jurisdiction), and, 2) Her parents don't support her emancipation.

According to the academics they interviewed there is a problem with "immigrants" and "losers" attacking any symbols of state authority with iron bars and fire bombs. The accepted solution (though one did mention more prison sentences) is to send in more "teachers" and "social workers." What do academics have against teachers and social workers? It's the academic version of a martyrdom operation.
You could rename this guy the Cause Flood of Home-Schoolers Czar. It's wrong to rip away the innocence of children like this. Gay or straight, graphic sexual instruction should not take place in school. I'm sure they'll be making home-schooling illegal soon, as it's becoming in Europe. Like your reader Bill suggests, I'll wager 90%+ of the gay community would find this to be bad policy. But politics being politics, Jennings will still find the 'progressive' wagons circling around himself.
As long as it is admitted that the law may be diverted from its true purpose — that it may violate property instead of protecting it — then everyone will want to participate in making the law, either to protect himself against plunder or to use it for plunder. Political questions will always be prejudicial, dominant, and all-absorbing. There will be fighting at the door of the Legislative Palace, and the struggle within will be no less furious. -- Bastiat, The Law, 1850 And that, in a nutshell, is how doctors become political activists. Everyone should read The Law. It's short and explains our modern 'progressive' overlords perfectly though it was written over a century and a half ago. If health care becomes a right then doctors are slaves. Their labor has been plundered as if someone mugged then on the street. You can quote me on that, but Bastiat could have said it.
Pamela, I don't know if you have been following Charles' latest clumsy attempt at character assassination. Some R.S. McCain wrote something for PJM and Charles went into full smear-without-verification mode. Sound familiar? I found a good compilation here: A Conservative Lesbian She also did the best summary of stories on Obama's Kenyan ancestors and their connection to the slave trade. That's when I found her blog.

You won a long time ago when Charles started tarring the only pro-Israel political groups in Europe as "Nazis" or when that failed "crypto-fascists". Yeah, so "crypto" they don't believe a single thing the actual Nazis believed. As opposed to the mainstream leftist parties in Europe who hate Jews, crush dissent, and try their political opponents (now Wilders). The "second time as farce" aspect of it is they claim to be opposing racism and fascism when they turn overtly fascist. What's particularly idiotic about Charles attacking that sign is the implicit allegation the poster wants to kill someone. Uh, Ted Kennedy *already died* of brain cancer (after an operation a government panel certainly would have deemed futile and overly expensive if we had passed a Kennedy-Obama-congressional Democrat plan for heath care). Doubling down on his stupidity, Charles fails to notice the obvious nature of the sign: responding to calls we pass this budget-busting, innovation-ending, government rationing system because the dead Kennedy supported it. It's just the argument we've been hearing since Kennedy died in reverse. Charles hasn't just become a leftist, but another stuck-on-stupid leftist. I should have trusted my instincts when I saw his picture the first time. He really creeped me out.

GRIM MILESTONE ALERT: The Religion of Peace deadly terror attacks counter hit 14,000 yesterday. Now back to Muslims talking about their peaceful religion taking over the US...
I'd be more polite, but seeing the brightest, most independent, and often the prettiest Muslim girls get murdered over and over -- while all the people charged informing the public or with protecting the victims bury their heads in the sand -- is beginning to make me careless with my manners. I have nothing against Kelly, Guilfoyle, or even the obscurantist Spilbor. But their lack of knowledge amounts to accessory to commit murder by sharia law. Really, how many more times do I have to see this? This time it was three female attorneys utterly failing in the most basic legal analysis of the situation, and only pretending to report on the facts of the case. So much for sisterhood. Can you imagine a Christian family getting such deference if their daughter ran away and gave similar testimony? Of course you can't. I used to think there were "wake-up calls" which would force people to educate themselves. But the snooze button is more powerful. How's Michael Jackson's drug-peddling doctor's trial coming along? I'll bet Kelly knows all about that.

Den, The three of them couldn't come up with the term "sharia law" despite talking about so-called honor killing for minutes. Hey (Three Legal Stooges) ladies, let me make this simple for you. If Muhammad can get Rifqa to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and so on, in front of a mufti, sheikh, or other sharia judge, Rifqa can be KILLED BY THE SHARIA COURT! ( clueless harpies...) This is so much worse than a mere honor killing situation. APOSTASY IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH throughout the so-called Muslim World (Earth to them). Jonna Spilbor is perhaps the dumbest person on the face of the Earth. Guilfoyle is only slightly better. If Rifqa's life depends on anyone as clueless as the three of them, she should kill herself now to avoid the rush. Anyone remember the Rahman case in Afghanistan a few years ago? (Quote:) Thus with grim predictability, an Afghan Muslim convert from Islam to Christianity, Abdul Rahman, was arrested, charged with 'apostasizing' from Islam, and according to the March 19, 2006 statement of the presiding judge, Ansarullah Mawlavezada, faces the death penalty. Apostasizing from Islam to any other religion is punishable by death under the Shari'a. And as Ibn Warraq described in his unique study of Muslim apostates, the Shari'a mandates often fill in the 'lacunae' of Islamic constitutions regarding punishment for apostasy from Islam. Mr. Mawlavezada explained that, although, "We are not against any particular religion in the Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law...[apostasy from Islam] is an attack on Islam. ... The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty." In an effort, one assumes, to convey his 'Islamic reasonableness,' the Afghan prosecutor, Abdul Wasi, further noted "...that he had offered to drop the charges if Rahman changed his religion back to Islam, but the defendant refused." (End Quote)
Of course the irony is Jyllands-Posten commissioned the cartoons to see if freedom of speech applied in a climate of Muslim aggression. Yale has proven, yet again, that it doesn't. Enlightenment, we hardly knew ye. As it turns out, the sword is mightier than the pen.
The media believes its own propaganda. There's not much to do but not let Amy forget what she did after Rifqa is murdered or shipped off to Sri Lanka (to be brainwashed or murdered). If people -- especially in the media -- aren't aware of the hundreds of Islamic honor killings every year, well, how is that even possible? I live a few miles from the hearing on Michigan Ave., but I don't see how I can do anything for Rifqa. I could take my three year old down and hold a sign, but that's dangerous for him. If anything happens to me or him, somehow it will be my fault for having an opinion Muslims don't like.
Good news: first caseworker from DCF recommends placement with Lorenz family. Now comes the political reversal of a real analysis of the situation, probably.,0,391042.story
As I pointed out many times at the website we shared -- now a propaganda source for CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood -- the only way to keep freedom of religion in this nation is to have some kind of Former Muslim Protection Program (FMPP). Islam is a one-way ratchet, a Roach Motel of religions: "You can check in. But you can't check out." The one thing I've gotten out of the last eight years is an understanding of how advanced cultures collapse. Obama said there was no way we could win this war through an instrument of surrender like WWII. Unfortunately nobody ever says Islam can't win that way. Which they do every time someone refuses to depict Muhammed, supports the hijab (a rape license for Muslim men against non-hijabed women), or fails to protect a young girl from sharia law. Fighting sharia is the most critical part of this war. How many people even have the foggiest idea of what sharia entails? For people who want to scrap the US Constitution and replace it with the Quran -- as the Muslim Brotherhood (CAIR, HAMAS, ISCF, MSA...) favors in its original slogan: "...the Quran is our constitution..." -- things are moving along just fine.[tt_news]=714&tx_ttnews[backPid]=181&no_cache=1
Er, Sri Lanka, not "Bangladesh". Either way, sharia law is in effect and Rifk(or Q)a won't survive.
Lorenz makes a mistake which allows the Muslim spokesliar of Central Florida to obfuscate, as they always do on this issue. As Robert has pointed out on many occasions: The QURAN does NOT have the clear and completely unambiguous statement on killing apostates. 'Reliable' (Sahih) AHADITH (sayings of Muhammed) DO. Ahadith make up the Sunnah or "Prophet's Traditions". Muslims always talk about Quran and Sunnah as the foundations of Islamic theology. The Reliance of the Traveller (like a hornbook of Islamic law) allows killing "by right" (honor killings). People need to get this straight as it's a life-and-death issue for many young girls. Of course Kendra Oestreich, like the entire mainstream media when it comes to Islam, uncritically reports Islamic misdirection without showing any interest in the facts whatsoever, surprising nobody. This is nauseating deja vu. If the Barys get Rifka back to Bangladesh, that's all she wrote. And nobody will report it. It's possible they'll even kill her here and disappear in the Islamic honor killing railroad, a la Mr. Said.
JPost reporting three people shot in DC Holocaust Museum.
I get confused between jilbab and abaya. But I'd say she's wearing a jilbab, definitely not a burka. I wonder if she was sent to do this hoping to create a PR victory for Islam? The people in attendance handled themselves very well, which is why the MSM would never cover the event. Anyone touches her and the Obama-Holder Justice Department would send 10,000 U.S. Marshals to establish martial law in Little Rock.
