Not that this addresses the central point of the post, but it occurred to me while I was reading it. While not said word of word in Scripture the idea of "reformed and always reforming" is explicitly present in Scripture when we are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and that in and through Christ we are transformed from glory to glory. One might even conclude that in 1 Peter when he says we are holy (static state of being in Christ) and called to be holy (dynamic state of becoming what God has declared us to be through Christ) Scripture explicitly calls us to be "reformed and always reforming."
