Bob, Wasn't Bob Coy hysterical? Seriously one of the funniest guys in the pulpit. Really impressed with MacArthur and MacDonald as well.

Had a great time at the seminar hooking up after so long. Implementing many of the ideas and tips this week. Great idea to put the invites in the bulletin. We are doing this for Easter season.

This seems more like a popularity contest than an effective communicator. Colin Powell? Give me a break.

Great piece. I am a church planter that was sent out by another church only afterward to be undercut by the staff of the sending church when to many people wanted to come with me. One other pirate that isn't mentioned which I have faced is the free agent rockstar. A former pastor or minister with a nonprofit who is a good teacher but stays non-commital in the body because their ministry but wants to teach for the adulation of the people. They fight you for popularity and when they lose leave the church.

I am discovering the power fo balcony time more and more. My best time is in my truck with my wife. We process things free of distraction. I call it Leadership by driving around and when you live in the most beautiful driving scenery in the world it only helps to calm you and give you clarity. Great posts Bob! Keep em coming.

Bob, Funny that you post about this. We went through Dave Ramsey's book "Total Money Makeover" and in two years we are debt free, established both retirement and college funds, and are about to close on our second house as a Pastor. God has blessed us but sound financial principles have allowed us to succeed all while having three kids and planting a church. Pastors can do it. Chuck
Just wait till you get to the Wiggles. It only gets worse from here.
I am one of the beneficiaries of your planting wisdom. We took what you said and it made all the difference. Hopefully we can pay it forward one day too.
I think we need to show people it can be done differently and better. I know I have blown my Pastor's mind with what we are doing. Sometime they need to see a different perspective. You have been huge in helping us get over that mindset. Thanks
