This happens to me sometimes, just as I am going to sleep. I am beginning to think that the memory that so distresses me is much less interesting than the reason this came to the surface at just this time. What parallel feelings am I struggling with now that I have not faced? Acknowledge, let go, and move on.

I hate those increases too, but I am hoping repetition will burn them into my brain and I will learn to love them. Seems like every year new things are harder to absorb but I soldier on. I suspect you will have an easier learning curve.

Your sweater is pretty and certainly suits you. Knitting is such a confort in times of stress and trouble. Seems like everyone is dealing with family health issues these days and it is so very hard to see ones own mother needing care. I hope all is going well for you.

I loved Joe Biden's speech. He so obviously really understands what it's like to be a military family. It seems few really do - the long hours, the deployments, the VERY modest pay, all of the moving and uncertainty. Add to that the too-frequent mental and physical results of all these multiple deployments. It's not just the service member who sacrifices. I also love Rachel and seldom miss a show. I follow her on Twitter and Facebook in case I miss something!

I'd take my wife. She loves sybaritic treatments of all kinds and I am always pointing out the extravagance thereof. It would be so nice to go together.
I guess it's encouraging to think that the newly discovered eternal connections will result in some kind of relevant art in the future. Sadly I must live in the present. I am glad to know that I am not barking mad when I think there is little to admire in most of current culture.

Thank you. These are issues where there can be no compromise, where there is no tenable middle ground.
The boots are great and the gift message even better. I should start having all my online shopping gift wrapped!

What a fascinating coincidence! I have also wallowed in works by a single author, sometimes to the detriment of my appreciation. The little tics and habits of a writer that are merely identifiers when read one at a time can become annoying when you plunge through several books in a row.
