These are such great stamps for a variety of uses and I thought I'd actually do some gift tags with them! The first group is from this year's catalog; the second from the 2009-10 catalog. I'm giving 3 sets of these to each of my stepdaughters as a Christmas gift. Hope they inspire you too! :-) Although you can't see it very well in the picture, I embelished the one at top left with diamond stickles on the pine cone & bough; the "Christmas Greeting with..." tag was stamped in Chocolate Chip and completely covered with dazzling diamonds; santa's suit... Now that my Thanksgiving cards are finished (!) I had some time to work on my Stampin' Up! Design-a-House. This was much easier than I ever dreamed and only the roof, which is done with rows and rows of embossed, scalloped paper, took much time. I suspect that this will be a work in progress over the next couple of months. Notice the smoke coming from the chimney... Here's a view of the back of the house. Continue reading

Here's another birthday card, done with this beautiful set and designer paper. It was fairly simple and quick, but is pretty dramatic in "real life". And, of course, it's almost entirely copied from another demonstrator who posted the card. This card is my first attempt at a couple of things... First, I used the technique where you fold your cardstock and run it through the crimper to create the diamond shape in the center. I sponged all the edges including the folds to "frame" the center layers. The second technique that was new for me was "emboss resist". I stamped with Versamark and embossed with white and then sponged River Rock, Bashbul Blue and Pacific Point ink. Since this is a birthday card for my DH, I added the "love" tag. I hope you like it too! Stamps: Just... Continue reading

I know that I posted a card like this some time ago, but I did several of these yesterday for men's birthdays in September. The more I experiment with the stencils, the more I like them. Wonderful simplicity! It's hard to see in the photo, but I also used Gold Smooch Spritz on both the outside and inside for a little added pizzazz! Stamps: Elegant Trio Stencils (pg. 34 of the Definitely Decorative brochure) Paper: Not Quite Navy & Very Vanilla Accessories: Stampin' Sponge, Gold Glow Smooch Spritz (pg. 195), Corner Rounder Punch Continue reading

This card is for a baby (boy) shower that I'm attending tomorrow. I flocked the teddy bear, used black "gems" for the eyes and made a tiny bow from 1/8" white satin ribbon. I used colored pencils to color the train on the front of the envelope. Hope you like it!
