As all of my Fashion Geeks may know, menswear is a huge part of my everyday being. From research to purchasing, there is something that gives me joy when I see something that stands out but also give such a classic refrence to menswear staples; which is hard to overlook. This year I was blessed to be given the position as Creative Director for Tom and Drew Boys instead of stylist and Consultant for the brand. This job is not only fun, but it is even more exciting to see young stylish celebrities in our clothes. From the Jolie-Pitts clan... Continue reading

Extreme Color is something that you rarely catch me in. I am more of the neutral kind of guy, but sometimes I like to just throw things together and have fun with it. Color is concept that has began to be incorporated into my styling more and more due to the new pieces that I fall in love with when out shopping. I tend to look for things that I dont have and that's when the color purchasing comes into play. Pairing colors is not about rules or direction it's all about perception. You can either do it in the... Continue reading

I know this post is so late but I was going through these pictures and decided to post these on here. Fashion Night Out is an eventful night in NYC with all of the stores having amazing musical performaces and special guest appearances. I didn't go to that many places due to my hectic schedule but I stopped by Versace to see Drake and Nicki Minaj and I also went to see my favorite Dallas Bloggers Jane and Judy Aldridge at Miu Miu. I didn't have that many pictures but the couple I have I just wanted to share with... Continue reading

I am all about transitional pieces in my wardrobe and luckily I have this t-shirt that gives me the warmth of Spring/ Summer but the colors are so classic that it can easily be worn underneath a chambray shirt or just as it is on a warm Fall day like last weekend in NYC. This nautical tee is so soft and comfy which contributed to my decision to buy. The pricepoint on these shirts can range depending on where you purchse them. I got this one from Forever 21 in Austin, TX when I was there for a music festival... Continue reading

Hi Fashion Geeks, I missed you guys. I know it has been a little minute since my last post but following this post I will share my reasoning for the time off ::it was fun and very productive:: but more about that later for now it's all about the chambray suit! The chambray suit is a great transitional suit that is pretty much good for all seasons except winter. From the color, the fabric content, and the weight it is one of those items that one can wear as separates and look just as great as it being worn together.... Continue reading

Essence for me was not what I expected.... I expected fun, beautiful black people celebrating the life of a wonderful magazine, but I didn't get exactly that. I got a little fashion (very little) but I did see really beautiful people in the city of New Orleans. I went to a couple of the concerts but only one took me by surprise and that Mr. West himself. He put on one of the most beautiful, intense, and simply ground-breaking performances that I ever saw from a rapper, but I wouldn't expect anything less. Well, I took a few pictures in... This year I was blessed to be able to not only go to London for 6 days but to attend the iconic Glastonbury Music Festival held every summer. Through acres of mud of England countryside fields, you get nothing but tents, flags, and music crave fans that are willing to sleep through it all. This experience has been one of the best all year. Taking the bus from London to the festival was cool with the scenery and the beautiful escapes that are provides just miles outside of the city. Entering the festival was everything but.... dirty, overcrowded, and somehow... Continue reading

This Classic Complex Concept of color blocking is nothing new or foreign to the greats of the industry, but to the normal everyday working man it is something that they are not used to. Finding colors that just work with one another is the brilliance behind this concept. It's bold, it's fun, and it's something that will grab your peers attention. Finding key pieces in your closet with bold coloration is where you start, then you figure out how to pull it all together without looking crazy. A great accessory is always key to pulling the color blocking concept together... Continue reading

When Spring hits and the sun showers our homes with light there is nothing like embrassing colors and patterns into your wardrobe. Flowers can easily change the direction of any shirt by taking it from a simple button down to a statement piece. Flower printed shirts aren't at all easy to pull off for every man, but if you have the swag and confidence to wear it then it will present itself. This Spring Summer season multiple designers used prints to change up their typcial concepts on boring menswear, but there is always the greats like Paul Smith and Etro... Continue reading

Growing up one tends to feel the effect of the ups and down and simply trying to figure out how to progress and address through situations, but how you react to them is most likely how you will survive the pain and even excitment out of this little thing we live called "LIFE" . So I recently started doing this deep thoughts section of the blog to show my readers a different side of me and how I would react towards certain situations that get thrown to me in my daily endeavors. Deep Thought #2: Observe Your Surroundings There are... Continue reading

A jean to me is like a tie to the blue collar working man. I work in them, I play in them, and I even cut them to make them into something else when I get tired of them. Jeans today is a simple staple for the wardrobe. Wearing jeans to the office isn't disrespectful anymore, its almost praised for finding a sense of style outside of the typical navy and black suit that is uniformed around working facilities. Luckily, for me I can wear jeans all the time so when I find selvage denim that provides something new to... Continue reading

The weather is steaming in Texas ::sometimes that is:: so I decided to pull out these shorts I bought a few years back for a vacation in Miami. Swim Trunks are one of those pieces of clothing that last for long periods of time because honestly you can only swim seasonal in most places and if you're like me you're really just relaxing in the water oppose to really swimming ::I do get my occasional swim on::. I love these shorts although they are bigger on me now then they were when I bought them. They're a fun, classic print... Continue reading

A shoe... no not just a shoe but a " masterpiece" its like one of those paintings you sit at and think about what the artist was thinking when they created such a masterpiece. That was the exact feeling I had when I walked into Neiman Marcus and saw this shoe. It was just waiting on me ::It spoke to me:: I couldn't go home without it. I walked around thinking.... "Should I drop $800 on a shoe? Is that retarded?" Then, I walked around the mall thinking if I stop thinking about it then I wouldn't purchase it. That... Continue reading

The nantucket red chino is pretty much a standard for the fashionable man in the spring summer seasons. It dresses up your navy shirts and white blazers with a burst of color that isn't too much but also not too subtle at the same time. The typical prepster loves nantucket red. My mission this spring was to bring in more color into my wardrobe and stop buying so many plaid shirts, so I was on the hunt for color and other types of shirts that was not plaid. I stumbled upon these beauties at J. Crew on sale and I... Continue reading

Puffer Vest can not only be transitional pieces but they can also be classic pieces for a male's wardrobe. The tricky thing is that not all men feel comfortable in them. Over the past couple of years, they have gotten slimmer, neutral, and more wearable for the everyday man which is why I decided to talk about them. The good thing about the puffer vest is the warmth that it gives the torso without the bulkiness of a coat or a jacket. It tends to contain heat while also bringing style and a layering factor to your outfit. Doing my... Continue reading

Men of style know the importance of tailoring, from blazers to pants it can sometime make or break the look and set you apart from the crowd. It's nothing like wearing a tailored suit or blazer that you know fits your perfectly. A skilled tailor will make anyone look good in a suit and thats the importance of having them on speed dial. Lately I do a lot of thrifting and vintage shopping and most things I pick up don't really look good on me ::as in FIT::, but I love the color and fabric choice so I buy it... Continue reading

Corduroy is a fabric that I have grew to love over this past year. From blazers to pants and today I was thrifting and found a vintage Wrangler cord vest that I can't wait to wear soon. Not too heavy but still seems to keep you warm enough that if you layer you will be perfectly fine in those high windy days we have been having lately. This blazer is from J. Crew ::a goto spot for men these days with big impact they are giving in mens fashion the past couple of years:: Being that it is one of... Continue reading
